In the world of Harry Potter, the Deathly Hallows—the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility—were originally possessed by Death himself, according to "The Tale of the Three Brothers." The artifacts were given to the Peverell brothers: Antioch (the Wand), Cadmus (the Stone), and Ignotus (the Cloak). The histories of these items reflect the personalities of their founders. The Elder Wand’s ledger is soaked in blood, passing through centuries of dark wizards like Emeric the Evil and Loxias, who murdered to claim its unbeatable power. The wand eventually reached Mykew Gregorovitch, was stolen by Gellert Grindelwald, and was won by Albus Dumbledore in their legendary 1945 duel.
The Resurrection Stone, which drove Cadmus to suicide, was passed down through his descendants, eventually becoming a forgotten family heirloom of the Gaunt family. It was stolen by Tom Riddle (Lord Voldemort), who turned it into a Horcrux, never realizing its true power. The Cloak of Invisibility, however, had a peaceful history. Ignotus Peverell used it to hide from Death until old age, and it was passed down secretly through his descendants, the Potter family, eventually reaching James Potter and then his son, Harry. Harry Potter is the only person to truly unite and master all three Hallows. Recognizing their corrupting power, he dropped the Stone in the Forbidden Forest, returned the Elder Wand to Dumbledore's tomb, and kept only the Cloak to pass down to his own children, ending the bloody cycle of the Hallows forever.
