Join us as we board the MV Loch Seaforth with Calmac (Caledonian MacBrayne) ferries from Ullapool to Stornoway. The crossing itself takes around 3 hours (depending on weather conditions) and gives the opportunity to see some amazing wildlife along the way including: Orca (killer whales), Humpback whales, Fin whales and multiple dolphin species including Common dolphins which we managed to see on this journey as we were leaving Loch Broom. As you leave Loch Broom you have fantastic views of the beautiful Summer Isles as you head into the Minch.
The MV Loch Seaforth links the Isle of Lewis & Harris to the Scottish mainland and is a fantastic vessel to travel on. There are multiple decks, hundreds of seats with incredible views and amazing windows at the front of the ship where you can look out at the stunning scenery & wildlife if the weather is poor (which in Scotland, it usually is). As we were entering Stornoway, we made our way to the front of the ship and managed to see a large pod of Common dolphins through these windows - amazing!
