Deguchi has competed against Liparteliani 5 times, and has won 3 of them (walk out in their first match, lost their second, won all matches after). Klimkait was going to compete at 63 this year but had to pull out to recover from injuries.
Bellandi in 78 is the only person who has won the Paris Olympics who has proceeded to win the World Championship. They say the Olympics is easier to win than the Worlds, but for some weight classes, it's harder to qualify for the Olympics than it is to win (like 60/66 for Japanese men) and I'm not surprised. 66, 90, and 81 were the toughest weight classes this year, in that order.
Two of the world champions this year, both Russian, are also sambo competitors (Arbuzov and Kanikovskiy). It explains why people who compete against them seem to also be afraid of their ground work: because they're scary there, too.
