Top 10 failed cards that made a comeback after you made the video.

Failed card but not a failed father

"But you have heard of me."

1:39 "Dark Paladin was a level 8 dark dragon with...."
Buster Blader (probably): I'll kill you

I love the fact that BB is not only able to kill a Blue Eyes, but a fusion summon Blue Eyes Ultimate. I just think it's so cool that he can stand toe-to-toe with what is possibly the strongest beatstick in the game, and come out ahead. Really feels the lore.

Ah Buster Blader, the "I slid this into my deck because I knew I was going to duel Kaiba somewhere along this freakin' tournament" card

They tell me i failed but they don't know how many busts i got by blading it

Buster Blader may be a somewhat failure gameplay wise
But story wise the tale of a mighty warrior saving a young creature fron a monster and bonding with it only for the young creature to become the very monster he once slayed
It hits just the right notes to be sadly sweet
Maybe one day their story will continue

When i was a kid i got a Dark Paladin that i was determined to get to work. I had 1 Buster Blader, 2 Dark Magicians, a King of Swamp, a Fusion Gate, and as many dragon monsters as i had.

It made it onto the field about 10% of the time out of the 100+ games i played with my friends. Though I'll never forget the one time i won with  him hitting over 11k attack. It was glorious

HOW DARE YOU! i WILL BREATH HEAVY AT YOU! i SWEAR IT!

I always hated the naming conventions in this archetype. Prologue only protects Whelp and the Equip monsters from destruction (none of the Buster Blader forms), Emblem can only grab Destruction Swordsmaster if he's in the graveyard, Whelp cannot search the original Buster Blader, and none of the equips work with Dragon Destroyer Swordsman unless it's specifically equipped by Buster Dragon during the opponent's turn from the grave. The only card that works with every monster in the archetype is Karma.

I understand the thematic significance (Prolouge only protects Whelp monsters because Buster IS protecting Whelp in the art) and gameplay balancing (instantly putting Dragon Buster on the fusion is a bit busted), but until you learn the interactons, it feels like they took the Timeaus ruling and made it an archetype mechanic.

Still a fun engine when you open Prologue. Then your opponent's hits Dark Hole and Prologue can't save anything on your field.

"Where there's a tuner, there are Synchros." Shaddoll Falco and Predaplant Banksiogre darting their eyes around nervously

I dont think it really makes any sense to call a deck that has tops, plural, a failed deck

Half expecting for a retrain to be part of the next support of chaos ritual.

Here’s a combo for buster blader:
Normal summon whelp, on summon effect to add prologue. Link it off with whatever link 1 you can make (works well with blue eyes since whelp is searchable by wishes). Set prologue. During your opponents turn, activate prologue to special summon buster dragon by dumping buster blader and memories. Chain memories to it, banish memories, whelp, and buster blader to fusion summon the bb fusion.

Hell yeah! An entire video about my favorite yugioh monst- WAIT- why is it titled as a failure?

Buster blader: a well balanced archetype in a game that power crept itself to the point it literally is just “go first and take 25 minutes to set up, or automatically lose”

But in Duel Links…! But genuinely I kinda love that it’s an archetype based entirely around fighting dragons and that’s the one thing it does well. Thematically solid.

My favorite card as a kid and the reason I started playing again

*You can add a brick to your hand" gimme three of this ❤
