respect to the plant...it was more loyal than the company

Bro my dads boss was  exactly like this until he got lawyers and court involved

What made the story not authentic was when HR is on his side instead of the company 😂

Announcer: “We had to fire you because of budget cuts”
OP: Okay, then they are going as well because of budget cuts.

11:00 “i got eliminated” like he encountered the terminator

Yeah a key account manager is pretty important not to fire!

Leaving is not the same as losing. Sometimes, it's the most precise and honest act of self-respect available to you.

0.90 speed sounds more natural

Here's the problem with that contract the second the company decided to go against what the contract said and asked him to do extra work without putting it in the contract and pay him for it the contract became voided. So far every federal district court in the United States has upheld that. Because you can ask him to do more work the second he does and it's not contracted your contract is void all those little clauses of non-compete non-solicitation go out the window. You must be compensated for your work.

It's always "Meridian" something

The folder labeled 'documentation' saving his life 😂 Bro was prepared. This story is so satisfying I need a sequel where Vanessa begs him to come back.

You can spend years making yourself indispensable to people who treat you as disposable.
That hits hard.

...I wouldn't hire that lawyer.  They suggested agreeing to an agreement that is even on both sides when clearly winning. The former employer would be paying my legal fees at minimum.  Reality is, they would probably accept.

this was incredibly well written. genuinely enjoyed this.

$58K for a management job in 2020 is a dismal salary. When I resigned in 2000 as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer (i.e., less than management), I was making $55K. And I'm a woman. OP, a man and manager, should have started at $100K at minimum!

Non competes don't apply if they fire you. You have a right to earn a living in the field you are trained to work in. Otherwise companies would hire good people just to fire them to keep them away from the competition.

Chicago! I used to have an office on Wacker Drive. The old office for the American Red Cross.

Yes..thought we weren’t going to get it, but there it is, the old favourite.. smile not meeting her eyes.. phew

When I listen to the story and just now I heard their claim I laughed. This guy has done a great job of making sure that the clients reached out to him via email so he’s safe and they the company assigned with him gave his old company 60 days to do better and they chose not to and they have the right to cancel the contract and wants to cancellation happen. They have right to sign whoever they want with even if it’s an ex employee so if I’m him, I’m counseling I’m gonna sue that company to where I can buy a warehouse for my company and he will win.
