I haven't even started the race yet, but I'm already getting goosebumps.

The Vietnam Mountain Marathon is the largest and oldest trail race in Vietnam — held since 2013 and now part of the World Trail Majors, alongside the most prestigious trail races in the world.

And when I arrived in Sapa for race pack collection, I immediately understood why this race has such a reputation.

The atmosphere was incredible. Thousands of runners from over 50 countries gathered in the heart of Sapa — amidst the fog and rain that didn't deter anyone. And when the flag went off for the 100 Miles, everyone stayed there, shouting, cheering — in the rain.

It was one of those moments that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

before I competed in the 100KM category myself.
