Max: "I'm sure we can find SOMETHING I have that you need..."
Evie: 😏
....No, Evie, NOT "that:! 😂

I remember renting this from blockbuster on VHS and staying up late to watch it, man I feel old

"Are you kidding me?"

Emilio!!! 😅

Of course the Charlie's Angels movie was parodying this, the 'OG'.  😂
Loved this watchalong with you and hope you do more. Amazing that you mentioned the tv show, Alias, because it's creator, J.J. Abrams, is the director of the 3 M:I flick and it is a beaut.

This is the one thats most like the TV shows

The smartest and best movie in the franchise. This movie is the most loyal to the tv series (both 60 and 80)  compared to the other movies. It is not just a generic action movie. It is much smarter than that. Fyi the original actor who plays Jim Phelps Peter Graves Rip refuse to play in this movie because what happen in this movie that is why Jon Voight plays in this movie. You should also see  the first Jack Reacher movie and Sneakers.

@20:10 this was the best reaction.

love the franchise they are all very good! some have different styles that may not be fore everyone but they are all good imo

Bro she's guuuud, catching the spies at once.. nice!! 🧐

JOB is Phelps.

💜

Oh yeah let's get started.
Hope you'll like this franchise Evie.

This is my 2nd favorite MI movie. I won't tell you my favorite, just ao no expectations are set. But this one is excellent. The rest of the films do get a little different in tone (less spy stuff, more action). There are some low points in the franchise, though...but dont get discouraged if you run into one you don't wnjoy too much. Stick it out, the series is a very fun one. 😀

More Tom Cruise You do need to see Top Gun 1986 & Top Gun: Maverick 2022 before they come out with #3 Jack Reacher 2002, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back 2016, Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow 2014, Taps 1981, Losin' It 1982, The Outsiders 1983, Risky Business 1983, All the Right Moves 1983, The Color of Money 1986, Cocktail 1988, Rain Man 1988, Born on the Fourth of July 1989, Days of Thunder 1990, A Few Good Men 1992, The Firm 1993, Interview with the Vampire 1994, Jerry Maguire 1996, Minority Report 2002, Collateral 2004, Knight and Day 2010, American Made 2017, All the Mission: Impossible movies.

7:48 that was a key moment, you only see the gun but not the body holding the gun, pretty obvious really, that was the only thing tho, the rest of the movie is awesome. I believe nobody could carry that franchise, only Tom n he def carried it

👍🏻🙂

Lord Tom 😎

Welcome to the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) Evie Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to enjoy the best spy action franchise of all time!
And  a fun-fact Mission Impossible theme “Dum Dum Da Da” is Morse code for the show’s initials. Dash-Dash = M Dot-Dot = I
Peter Graves was the Original "Mr. Phelps" and was asked to reprise his role for the movie, but declined when he read that he was the villian.  He could never see his character as doing that. The original TV series had Jim Phelps as the main character, so no one expected him to be the bad guy in the movie. Btw MI2 is the weakest of the franchise but 3 is when it gets better and after that the stuts are insane. Please react to them all.

Overall I really enjoy this series, but I will always have a problem with one specific element in this film. I grew up watching the TV series, my friends and I would pretend we were IMF, although as we got older finding a girl to be Cinnamon became more difficult. We took turns being Jim, Barney, and Rollin, but Stuart was always Willy because he was a big kid.  I know that Jim Phelps would never betray the IMF, and when I saw this in the cinema with my then partner the reveal made us look at one another and say "NO" out loud. A few other people our age or older had similar reactions. I get why they did it, but they could have just had Jim retire with honour.

MI2 is way out of character for this series but worth watching. Too cheesy. You will be balls deep in the rest of them! Another great reaction! Your biggest fan in  Palm Springs! 🌴🌴❤️
