I wish they could decorate the area with some colorful plants and clean up the trash

I grew up in the Hellshire Hills and all these houses were some small two bedroom homes and empty lots originally. I'm proud of the people of these areas because the place a come from far and they never lost the vision.

A house inherited is called generational wealth.

Correction - Greater Portmore came after Portmore. Not one of the original communities. Original communities are Gregory Park, Independence City, Edgewater, then Passagefort, Waterford, Portsmouth, Westchester etc.. The first "Hellshire turn off" is actually the Fort Clarence roundabout.

The Jamaican dream is "one room build house" ... start with one room and keep adding one more until you end up with a mansion. This is how by the time I became a teenager my parents had a big house. No one from “farrin” gave them a cent! For many, The hope is for the kids to come back with the grandkids and have a comfortable space when they visit. Next do Ironshore please. That is one of the most affluent neighbourhoods in Jamaica and those are mostly the homes that were built with “farrin” money, I will admit

My mom bought her home in 1987. Edgewater was known to have affluent families. Also I think Bridgeport and some parts of Independence City. Tons of people migrated in the 80s and 90s. Love the scenic drive out! Bless up.
