I like your perspective but as a 32 years old, I don’t have a time to build friendships first. I want to meet someone who is ready to settle down who meets my requirements. I don’t want to be in my mid 30’s and still dating.

In this day and age is all about recommendation. Seriously you can’t just trust anyone now and meet a dude. I would suggest recommendation from a trusted sister, aunty or friend. Someone that has been vetted. Then you can just meet him with a Mahram have several meetings and go from there. I recommend someone someone knows

Very insightful perspective. I'm in a same situation right now but a little more family drama and pressure. I believe that I'm not ready to look for anyone due to depression and issues with grad school but it's difficult for my parents to understand and they always try to rush things. ☹️Inshallah, I hope I find a person that I like after getting some self care and without huge amounts of pressure.

this happens i think because somali girls never try to talk to boys when they are young it doesn't have to be you have to do bad things they are ok in islam to talk to a guy but they don't do that how do you learn to talk to a guy son is not your brother or cousin they have to try to pick up more and read by guy. how to be etc. how to talk and she said the guys she has talked to don't give back the same as her sister there is nothing wrong with you but the ones you talk to are wrong

Unfortunately, Kally’s advice is flawed and can be problematic. It’s manipulative but also makes young girls vulnerable to guys who probably aren’t interested in marriage and ladies please don’t believe you’ll be able to change his mind.
