Got an M1 Pro 512gb 16gb from backmarket for $648. This thing retailed at $2,100. People thinking the tech isn’t good anymore cause it’s a few years old is wild.

I did the same - found a M1 Max Macbook pro floating around on the marketplace for <$1000. After numerous precautions to ensure it wasn't damaged or stolen, I am a happy owner of a M1 Max. Super super happy.

My M1 Pro is the first computer I have ever been truly satisfied with. Never gets hot. Fans seem to never turn on. Super fast and reliable. Just works. Amazing value.

Im a software engineer and i got mine ( base model) last year in oct at $1000 , sincerely this laptop is more powerful , i could open docker containers  while running simulators and emulators and figma , and still runs like a champ no fan noise or overheating

I got a refurbished MacBook Pro M1 Pro 512GB 16GB RAM for University in Biomedical Sciences. This is a great machine!

I bought a refurbished M1 MacBook Pro in 2022 for software development. It very quickly became apparent, it was the only computer I needed. I was able to use it as a desktop to drive my screens for work and had enough memory and CPU capacity to run virtual machines for testing and development, whilst being truly portable.

I don’t understand how anyone can think the M1 pro is not worth it by today’s standards

We really live in a tech bubble where we need the latest and greatest. But in real life, people are using 2015 MacBook pros, so a M1 MacBook Pro 14 might be someone's next dream laptop in a few years!!

I bought my M1 Max when it came out in 2021 and even in 2025 it is an absolute beast and I have no desire to upgrade any time soon.

I bought a base m1 macbook air in 2020. Last week I bought a m1 pro macbook pro with 60 cycles and 98% battery capacity.. at 900 euros! It's crazy value! Very happy with it. I will rock it for the next 5 years at a minimum!

i will not tolerate the touchbar slander i love it

I completely agree, i was lucky enough to find a 14 in 2021 M1 Macbook on marketplace for $400 (b/c the display was damaged). After sending it off to be fixed by Asurion for screen and battery replacement (for only $100) i now have a refurbished machine that works great and is powerful for only $500.

Also bought MacBook pro m1 max, 32 gb, 1 tb for around 1100 Usd, this is a beast. I work in Davinci with 4k, 10 bit, clips, project total of 300 gb+, it handles it as floating water.

I bought that bad boy today

I bought my M1 Pro MacBook Pro at launch and it’s to this day my favorite laptop I’ve ever owned. It’s a powerhouse and way out performs my RTX 4080 PC in every way in content creation.

My day-to-day workload is rarely, if ever, compute-restrained. BUT I am very often RAM-constrained. Bought an M1 Pro with 32GB RAM for ~$800 off of eBay. Great computer. Very happy with  it.

Bought one for used, 95% battery health and 94 cycles. With 2 years of apple care + left. 16 gigs with 1tb. Even though the screen is a 14” it’s a massive upgrade from my last 16” MacBook Pro 2019. Best purchase ever. Even being 3-4 years old. It’s going strong. I bought it yesterday lol.

I got a great deal on this MacBook Pro M1 Pro for around $700 USD. As my first Mac after 10 years on Windows, I'm incredibly impressed. The Apple M1 Pro chip is revolutionary; it's still a powerhouse four years later. The battery life is amazing, even with 87% health, providing 7-8 hours of continuous power during heavy tasks like running multiple VMs. I never imagined a laptop could offer such performance and battery life unplugged.

4 days ago I bought an identical spec one myself! First Mac/MacBook and I'm utterly in love! It's such an impressive laptop, it's blazingly fast still and as a full time videographer it keeps up with everything else I have 0 problems at all.

It's just delightful to use and I adore the form factor. £665 with only 83 battery cycles! I now can't help but wonder what the M1 Max with double the RAM feels like 😂

Great review of a used Mac - they're such good value. When I bought an M1 Max MBP after release to replace my 2015 Retina MBP I thought I'd try to get onto a 3-year upgrade cycle but this thing still handles my 4K workflow like a breeze. I can't justify a new Mac and probably won't be able to for a couple of years at least. Just get as much ram as you can afford, for longevity and my work I probably should have gone for more than 32GB.
