1.6 million. The iron curtain had just come down.✌️

That wasn't just a concert. It was a celebration of liberty.

The opening song was The Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

This was the Monsters of Rock festival in Russia after the dissolution of the USSR. It was a festival with AC/DC, Metallica, Black Crowes, Pantera. The estimated crowd was 1.6 million people…

No matter what genre of music you like, this is incredible.

The wall came down, and the people came out. 1.6 million people came out to scream. 1.6 million.

When there was still hope that the world was getting better. 😢

This was a free live concert in Moscow called Monsters in Moscow with AC/DC, Metallica, The Black Crowes and Pantera.  It was at an airfield and it happened after the Berlin Wall came down and the Soviet Union was falling.  Big moment for the people of those countries.  The helicopters you see flying right over the crowd are Soviet Military helicopters.

i can respect that he honestly said that they weren't for him. It gives an authenticity that I don't think all reaction video people are willing to commit to. You can say you don't like something and still be respectful of someone else's musical taste.

Everytime I see this it gives me goosebumps!

Gentlemen , this takes place at a military airfield in Russia in front of 1.5 million people. Other band preformed that day; Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Motley Crue and others. The Theme song they used is from"" The good ,the bad and the ugly which starred Clint Eastwood.Metallica has used this theme song for years as their entry music before they preform.Crazy right?

This was 1991 Russia, just after the fall of the Soviet Union. They opened up to the West and started allowing American and English rock bands perform. These young people went ape shit getting to see something like this for the first time.

These are people that are experiencing FREEDOM for the first time in their lives. That's why there's so many

They're playing in the Tushino airfield in Moscow - it was a FREE concert;  the first rock concert allowed in Russia. 💯💪🤘

It’s the theme from the movie, “The good the Bad and the Ugly.

Those people weren't allowed to see anything like this in their country. When they did it, all went nuts. There were other bands, too. Epic.

That's four original Woodstock crowds.

Rumor is...... that there are still people looking for where they parked

The concert was performed on a runway. It's reported that 50 ppl died. It was a Monsters of Rock including Pantera.

Imagine feeling that crowds energy coming back towards you...
