Go and stand in a goal and then you will see how hard it is.
I hate the “I could have stopped that” comments when you have no idea what your talking about.

8:31 football goals are 24 feet wide, if a shot is placed well there's not much the goalkeeper can do

1:00 Bro that Mitoma goal, you wouldn’t even manage to control that pass 😂. He perfectly catches a long air pass with his back turned against the trajectory of the ball while being pressed. And the ball wasn’t “just there” for the goalkeeper to defend - if you notice he was already fully stretched trying to reach the ball. Cameras often make everything look closer to each other than reality.

It is interesting to see what looks easy and hard to someone who has never really played. Growing up in Europe I think you take it for granted that everyone knows how hard certain things are, like Mitoma controlling that ball over the top or pretty much any save that involves diving at full stretch. I think people from the US in particular don't appreciate how big a football pitch and the goal actually are, I am guessing they are subconsciously comparing to basketball?

You'd have not saved Mitoma's shot. It was precise and way too fast to be saved. The goalie was at full stretch. It's harder to save low shots than ones that are high or higher.

The Rice goal was against Real Madrid who Mbappe plays for. His country is France but his club is Real.
Fun fact: This was Rice's 2nd free kick goal of the game. He had never scored a free kick before and he nailed 2 wonder strikes in the same champions league game. Truly magical stuff!!

No2, the Rice goal was so special because it was the Champions League quarter final against Real Madrid, and Declan scored another Worldie free kick 12 minutes earlier, the first time it's been done against top opposition at that stage. All the other times 2 such free kicks have been scored it's been against lesser teams or/and early matches in the group stages, goalkeeper howlers or deflected shots etc. Banging 2 of those in in 12 minutes against Courtois, the best shot-stopper in World Football was utterly unprecedented, and the fact the first goal isn't on this vid is a disgrace. The first was a right footed mirror of a Messy goal against Liverpool that won goal of the tournament a few years earlier. You should have seen the look on Mbappe's face, Jude's too, when Declan's free kicks flew in. For context, Declan had never scored a free kick as professional footballer before, not one, then he scored the 2 best free kicks that season in one game.

In regards to being a keeper. A lot of the time, especially long shots you've got bodies in front of you and if the striker hits it early you have much later reaction time as a result as you have to see past everyone. Then dive, etc

Yeah you should check some of the WC goals

I think you should watch a "Sepak takraw" match—a sport that originated in Indonesia. It's interesting to watch. 😂

McTominay played for Manchester United. He now plays for Naples in Italy. Helped them win the league for the first time in years they love him.
That kick was over 8 feet on the air.
Football is closer to basketball / a game of fast passing to players in space and incredible skill.

11:11 was the goalie even trying? yes, the goalie was caught off his line he can't go back since he didn't even know it was a direct shot

16:44 Bro said Real Madrid was France, France wears blue, They we're playing against Arsenal whom they lost the first leg 3-0 thanks to Rice's 2 free kicks
