I've played 3 James Blunt songs for funerals. First was The Girl that Never Was, for my son Sean, died of SIDS at 5 months, at least we got to know him a while. Second was for my Pops, died of cancer, so, of course, Monsters. And lastly the one I meant the most, Goodbye My Lover, for my Darling Maggi. I am honored and Blessed to have someone else that could write my feelings so accurately so often. It's been years, but I still feel their presence in my Life and Soul. Still so Hollow at times...

say what you will about him, no one sings like him. His voice is unique. He is a bird, but he has raspy texture when needed. Outstanding vocalist

What Sam? You never reacted to 'You're Beautiful'? Surely not. It's the song which introduced James to the world of music from his days as an officer in the British military. I know you'll LOVE it. 🙋‍♂

James is British, and in my opinion, one of the best singer/songwriters in the business. Many of his songs are written from personal experiences, and are very emotional and powerful. His songs touch the souls of others who have gone through similar experiences, and have helped them heal by letting them know that they are not alone. If you have a chance, I would suggest a few more of his best songs. "The Girl that Never Was", Carry you Home", "You're Beautiful".
Wishing you a good day. ❤

This released on the same day me and my old high school girlfriend broke up in 2004, holy crap the memories that just came back hearing this song again!

You have spoken of your wonderful relationship with your husband before and I was always impressed that you spoke of him as your best friend. So I immediately took notice that the lyrics in this song always pair the words ‘lover’ and ‘friend’. Lovers who are not deep friends are only playing a game. It is not the real thing and will not last long. Some lover and friend relationships are so deep and so right that they will last a lifetime of joy and it sounds like you have one of those. And that thought brings joy to me.

Sammy you're so beautiful. Your husband is a lucky man. Loved this reaction. James Blunt is a very unusual artist and you either love it or hate it. I love it. ❤

Sammy you'd love Marpha. She has such a gritty voice. New song: doomed.

That’s what happens when you love someone sooo much you have given them the power to destroy you 😞
