I remember hearing Bas tell the story of when he looked for all his childhood bullies. I can only imagine the pain they felt when Bas introduced them to the liver shot.

The best thing is to be able to live in a time where we can learn from one of the best stand up fighters who ever lived and how enthusiastic and kind he is to share with us free of charge. These classes are gold. I drill them like an obsessed monkey and then apply, and teach to my classes with just s much enthusiasm and then tell everyone, go watch Bas to fix whatever I missed. Bas, you make a difference, you do Gods works a warrior and teacher, and its good work. Changing people and how they look at conflict and problem solving, bringing the child excitement of learning back into the dojo. Bless you brother. Great advice on the heavy bag. I had to have about 6 weeks off when I was younger due to my wrist tendons. If only you had been doing YouTube back then and my mentality had not been "oh it will be fine after a rest"

Another great combo, Bas, but what really was helpful was to aim through the liver to the opposite shoulder blade. Now that looks like a devastating punch, hallelujah.

Though Bas Rutten did not base his signature liver shot on the organ's connection to the name Pancrase, the comedic coincidence of targeting a "visceral organ" while fighting in an organization named Pancrase is an amazing piece of wordplay.

The way I punch for self-defence is to punch like you are casting a fishing rod, or hitting with a stick, so that you always aim to hit with the 2 main knuckles. The benefit of this is that you squeeze the fist as you punch.

Oh man! The king of liver shots telling us how to actually do this!! Ya. I'm watching this at least 20 times! LOL
