Thank you everyone for all the nice comments! THIS VIDEO ISN'T MONETIZED, so I would appreciate if you subscribe and check out my NEW SERIES breaking down every single one of their songs!

EDIT: I had to completely take out about four minutes of explaining the Heavydirtysoul music video :( copyright completely took down the video with it in

One extra thing I want to mention because I just found out about it so SPOILERS FOR THE VIDEO.

The ending is even more fitting when you look into the history of the Nicolas Bourbaki group in that there were really no permanent members and were constantly in rotation of mathematician replacing them. Even the "leaders" of the Nicolas Bourbaki group where eventually replaced by someone new and the cycle continued as long as the group would stay in existence. There is obviously parallels here to the Clancy's being a cycle, how Nico was once a Clancy who replaced the Blurryface before him. Just a cool bit of info I thought I would share!

Other bands need to take notes. This is how you engage a fanbase for TEN YEARS

The lack of ads made this viewing experience, this incredible project you crafted together, a pleasurable one. Wow. Thank you, Nathan.

A Car, A Torch, A Death. A whole saga in one title.

I'm willing to bet Nico wasn't the past Clancy, but Keons was. That's why he helped Clancy, ultimately sacrificing himself in order to help break the cycle, because his intentions were also to do better.

This is the best, most comprehensive guide to the Blurryface saga that should be required viewing! It was the perfect thing to watch after listening to Breach, I'm honestly still not used to the story being over. I feel like it's been with me forever. Some of the most compelling, well-thought out lore I've witnessed from any artist in a while. Excellent work, may you get many more views!

How do I tatto a one hour 46 minute video?

@dylanrandolph965 9 months ago

I think scaled and icy was also a reflection of the time when it was written and released. That the whole world was forced to stay inside, not have physical contact, to isloate. while the media compensated with colorful shows, entertaining social media posts, and news

The absolute genius part of all this story isn’t the fact it’s so well thought out or if it has a good moral. But the fact that in a way it’s completely optional you don’t need it to appreciate the greatness of the music but if you choose to invest in the story it doesn’t take over and make the music a backround peice it only elevates it the more you learn about the world these guys created. Such a good run for any band. Makes me look forward to seeing what they’re gonna cook up next

In the past I've seen a lot of debate over what is and isn't religious symbolism in the band's lyrics. I think the character of the Torchbearer is the perfect example of my philosophy on this. I relate it back to Kitchen Sink "You don't know what that means, because a kitchen sink to you is not a kitchen sink to me." The Torchbearer is a symbol of whatever it is that gets you through the dark times, whether that's God, a loved one, a hobby/passion, or anything else. It's unique to each person. If a particular lyric resonates with you in a particular way, then that's what that can mean to YOU. The whole narrative is about overcoming your own struggles, and that can mean something very different to all of us.

We fight, not because we believe we can win, but because it's worth fighting for, even if we lose.

i love the zane lowe interview on scaled and icy where zane essentially breaks down the whole message of the album and storyline and tyler just sits there like “holy crap he cracked it already wth”😂

You know, seeing this all laid out is making me realize that this story is just as much about the creative process and the music industry as it is about mental health which I think makes sense considering the people who made it and their outlet of choice. It amazes me just how many different meanings you can project onto this framework thats already really intriguing in a vaccume. I adore tøp lore so much lol.

@emilycaitlynn2471 1 year ago

i’ve said this before but i would LOVE if tyler and josh made an entire movie or series based on all these years. Tyler is such an amazing story teller and just seeing a movie visually put together of everything i’ve been experiencing for 10+ years. 😭

TØP at peak lore drops is just like "what if we had schizophrenic musical sensibilities but ALSO made that our whole brand and marketing strategy?" And it worked and i love that for them.

I've been listening to Twenty-One Pilots for a solid ten years without ever really diving into the lore, English not being my first language, I never really questioned the lyrics. But I knew there was one, I knew a lot of the pieces without ever really connecting them together because I never knew where to start for all of it to make sense. This video was so well made, it put everything in its place and I'm beyond amazed by how much more detailed and constructed than I thought it was this story really is. Thank you for articulating it so clearly and allowing people like me who have enjoyed their music for a long time without really diving into the lore to understand the complexity that lies behind each lyrics, music video and shows. I can't believe I wasn't a part of it sooner. Good job, you deserve more credit for your incredible work!

This is the only recap I've seen that really captures the energy of unfolding this story as it went on, while keeping me interested and engaged. The graphics, music choices, pacing, and editing were simply fantastic. If I ever find anyone who wants to understand this story I will absolutely send them here! Fantastic. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

First of all, this video is one of the best things I've ever seen. One small thing, though. In the last bit, I think it's worth it to say that Tyler said that the City Walls VIDEO, the whole thing, concludes the saga. The VIDEO includes the song Intentions at the end. So, that means that City Walls, the song itself isn't the full ending, but City Walls coupled WITH Intentions is. Intentions is the perfect end. It's the answer to WHY Clancy did what he did in becoming the new Nico. His intentions are pure. His intentions are everything. But the question will always stand. "Did I learn a thing?"

Also, Intentions isn't just musically the reverse of Truce, but vocally as well. The vocal harmony and melody of Intentions is the vocal melody of Truce, but reversed.

I also think realizing the torchbearer is the main character is so important and speaks to how overshadowing the voice of doubt and insecurity and fear are, that they often are the main focus, and we are so focused on that part of us that we forget the unwavering flame of hope and fight within. this is the most comprehensive and poetic explanation i’ve seen of all the lore, i agree with whoever said it should be a mandatory watch!

Phenomenal job dude. I have a theory that the banditos becoming the new bishops is kind of an allegory for gaining new coping skills every time you battle your mental illness. They may have joined in order to be the next Keons, to help the next Clancy throughout the cycle.
