The Slave Who Walked Into a Texas Saloon – And Left 18 Men Dead (1873 True Story)
He was born in chains. In 1873, he walked into a saloon and changed Texas forever.
The year was 1873. The place was Dusty Creek, Texas. A man dressed entirely in black pushed through the saloon doors. Within 60 seconds, he drew his revolver and put a bullet through the skull of a man named Thomas Burch.
Before anyone could react, he vanished into the blazing afternoon sun.
That single gunshot echoed across Texas for two years. It was the first shot in a campaign of vengeance that left 18 men dead. It was the announcement that a ghost had returned to collect debts white men thought were long forgotten.
His name was Zachariah Creed.
