Notebook-B is a type of leather commonly called a “pull-up” leather. It has been hot-stuffed with oils and waxes to protect it over time. The color changes are appreciated for how they patina over time.

Hi, the way the cover "B" changes color when you stretch is called the pull-up effect. Some types of leather are known for this property - for example the Aragona leather.

I independently bought the Herte (B) notebook holder a few weeks ago and your video was recommended to me and I watched it and I can honestly say it was well worth the money and has served me well. I use a ladies hair elastic scrunchy to keep it closed and my pen is then held between the covers nicely.

"Jack's Pount" leather Field Notes cover on Amazon. $32.00 .
3.5 x 5.5 , and holds a larger size note pad. Does not have a pen loop, but you can attach one in the crease. I've tried 2 other brands, which I did not like. This has 7 pockets. High quality a small green cowhide Comes in a nice, high quality cottoncloth sack and sturdy box. Field Notes Brand cover, nice but was too expensive. When you open the linen cloth sack, you get a wonderful scent of leather.😂 ( i'm not being paid for this endorsement.) It is a very nice product and well worth the price.❤

This is a really nicely done video, I’m not ready to buy a journal cover just yet but like the way you’ve presented these options. I like the sizes you’ve suggested, nice and punchy, no bulk, smart looking & effective, do the job & like you say comes down to preference.

They're all real leather. If one wasn't, you could tell the difference easily. The interior would be an obvious fabric; the smell would be plasticky; and it wouldn't be as supple or as forgiving of wear.

I have several leather notebook covers I got from Amazon, ranging in price for eighteen to thirty-two dollars, but the best cover by far is the Lochby mini Field Journal I got. It's waxed canvas, but still cost a good deal more than the others. But the system and the cover is perfect, as are the Lochby pocket notebooks.

Unfortunately the stock is sold out and more won't be available until July, but they can be pre-ordered from the Lochby site at something of a discount.
