Brian Moore was legendary presenter and commentator

Fantastic upload. Plus an interview with the original Ron Manager (Alec Stock) from the Fast Show

People spoke much more naturally and freely on TV back then. The modern fashion is to always keep super cool. Anything else is considered unaaceptable. I miss the way people weren't afraid to show real feelings and passion.

Great memories, and a dip in the old 3rd division.

I was there - what a crush to see Moore, Best, Marsh and my personal fav Ossie. Milton Road at the old Dell. Jumpers for goalposts.......

This is great.  Managers sitting together in the studio, replacement Ireland jersey for Liam Brady, goalies used to have to wear a plain jersey(!), and reading out Mrs G Hunt's address in Fulham SW6

Thanks for posting this. What I wouldn't give to have been alive back when the Brighton v Palace rivalry started.

Just think, Martin Tyler is still going strong!  He commentated on the likes of Best, Moore, Marsh etc.  Now that's an experienced commentator, unlike the "newbies" who've found their way into the game today...

George Best wasn't even mentioned in the Fulham game until he was walking off the pitch! He did go missing a lot

Anybody else remember the Admiral kits back in the day?

Alec Stock was the inspiration for Ron Manager according to Paul Whitehouse.

Must've been alright for those living on Goldstone Lane, living in warmth & watching the matches free of charge.  Like having executive boxes.  All due to the fact that the East Stand was an uncovered terrace.  Would have ended up being disappointed when the club (controversially) left The Goldstone Ground.

I never saw the Big Match. Being in the midlands we had ATV Star Soccer. Hugh Johns being the main midlands commentator

Of all the football themes this is the daddy, itv should use it again.

Have you got more Big Match editions from 1976-77?

Thanks again. I was wondering if you have the 1973 big matches in november containing  qpr-coventry and a couple of weeks later sheffield u-COVENTRY?

Didn't know Kenneth Williams managed Crystal Palace.

Dur, dur, dur, durda, da, da, da....

Wasn`t Ray Lewis from Great Bookham in Surrey,? always made me laugh

Brighton v Palace, even though they're 50 miles apart, when did this become a needle match,
wasn't there a big blow up fracas a year or two later?
