What started as an already chaotic living situation with roommates, couch surfers, boyfriends, girlfriends, and people who basically moved in without being on the lease somehow turned into us catching my friend’s “boyfriend” with another girl.

And that’s when EVERYTHING went left.

We thought we caught this man cheating, my friend confronted him, a fight broke out, and he kept yelling, “YOU’RE NOT MY GIRL!” Of course, at the time, nobody believed him.

Fast-forward EIGHT YEARS and my friend casually admits something that changes this entire story: he apparently NEVER asked her to be his girlfriend. 😭

So were we defending our friend from a cheating boyfriend… or did we just insert ourselves into the world’s messiest situationship?
