Field tested and genuinely super-useful... if I do say so myself.

You are a pro!
I want to grow like you lol😂

Have spent most of today looking at sliders because i need to upgrade - have just ordered the latest Zeapon and PT head. Thank you!

I've used the previous iteration of the Kessler Second Shooter 3-axis setup for the past 8 or 9 years, primarily for timelapse photography with occasional video work. As a photographer, I’d never choose a more "affordable" (tongue firmly in cheek) system for one simple reason: reliability.

Before settling on this rig, I tested several others—most had issues, but what ultimately ruled them out was poor performance in the rain and an overall lack of ruggedness. Kessler gear, on the other hand, has proven solid in the field time and time again.

One bonus is that quality equipment holds its value. I recently sold another Kessler rig I had owned for about five years and recovered over 80% of the original cost (helped a bit by inflation, of course).

I'm also using the all-terrain feet from Kessler, but like you, I pair the system with a Sachtler tripod and sometimes a monopod. Speaking of Sachtler—they have a new slider head that looks promising. Haven’t tried it yet, but given the brand, it’s probably excellent.

Kessler and eMotimo are top of the line in my opinion.  I was really impressed when I tried the Weapon slider.  It was more smooth than the iFootage Slider Nano, which I had high hopes for but fell flat.  I found myself looking towards edelkrone as a lower cost, yet robust system, sitting just below the Kessler.  It's quite good and just as bulky.  Now iFootage released the Slider Nono II, that's been my go-to slider.  It's compact, quick to set up, and very accurate.  I struggle to find a use for the edelkrone system since it's so much bigger and takes more to set up.

Check out the Kupo slider stands, very sturdy and cheaper than matthews without much if any sacrifice in quality.

Can you also use the Kessler like a manual slider? Disengage the motor and adjust the drag for a manual slide?

hey, I'm coming back to this video as I'm needing a way to introduce motion into location B-Roll in my videos but have a real hatred for gimbals! As something fairly cost effective that I'd just be using to capture a handful of shots on each shoot, would you still recommend the iFootage Shark Slider S1? Portability and long term reliability are really important for me. Thanks :)

Have you tried the Edlekrone slider ?

Damn bro u really clipped your audio on this one xp

very cool and super useful. Have you ever tried to your camera on the  slider Zeapon micro 4 but upside down, for an overhead dolly shot? so filming what is under the camera overhead? would that be possible and safe? for a lighter set up like nikon zr and a prime 35mm for a total weight of about 1kg? that could create some very unusal and creative shots

I'm curious about something with the  Kessler software ..  Can you drop an audio file into their software timeline? So, for examples, say I imported a song into the timeline and then used the software to program the slide for the song , and then did multiple takes to edit together. I haven't found anything that can do that yet, and trying to time the start of a slide to a song just doesn't work.  Hope I am explaining this well enough :)

Did you look at the eMotimo system?  They have a good integration with the Shark S1
The S1 is still a very good slider IMO and the eMotimo kit is very versatile, can work with much larger track systems and it also integrates easily with Dragonframe if needed.
If I already had the Kessler system I guess I wouldn't swap, I just wondered if eMotimo was on your radar.

I’m about to get the iFootage Shark Slider Nano II which isn’t as long as the Kessler, but at 1/10 the price for a shorter motion control rig it’s a great place to start. You attach the Ronin 4 gimbal and away you go.

Interesting! How does this work? is the cine slider motorized? Is it possible for you to share a link of your actual set up? I'm interested in purchasing the same for my work. Thanks
