Just discovered your channel and really enjoy the gentle pace and style of your approach both the fishing and the video - top quality well done 👏🏼

Very interesting concept of the zones. I like that. Cheers

A very very good video they are lively when they have been rested.

A great video Dan! As a newcomer to barbel fishing, I took some comfort from seeing you using the same stick float, meat, & hemp tactics that I have so far tried. Although my first barbel still eludes me, I'm enjoying the chase!

What I have picked up from watching you, was holding the rod high and keeping the line clear of the water. It dawned on me that this is much better than leaving the line to float on the surface where varying flows between rod and float will push it into all sorts of strange shapes and lessen your contact!

I promptly subscribed and am looking forward to watching more of your content... Thanks & tight lines.     Chris.

An excellent barbel on the float video, I really enjoyed it. Two lovely barbel and bad luck on losing the third. I got into float fishing for barbel about three years ago and it is a most enjoyable way of fishing for them. On a recent week long trip to the Wye I enjoyed one day on the float and had seven small barbel  about 5 lbs plus a couple of chub.

Great session

Remember I had this Drennan float line before. I'd never used it as a reel line let alone as a hook length  for barbel. It was so week for the diameter in comparison to other lines that it ended up in the bin. Hook length line for trotting for barbel don't need to be supple either. Any line designed for hook lengths will  be better than this.

Enjoyed that it was a nice watch although defo pushing it a bit with the hooklength choice. That Drennan float fish is designed to be buoyant to lay on the surface as a mainline, once you put a knot in it it becomes less than 5lb breaking strain, big Barbel plus the current is snapping that like its nothing.
Maybe consider going 6lb or 6.5lb breaking strain with a hooklength material like Drennan supplex for example.
Nice video though bud we live and learn, banking 2 out the 3 on that setup weren't bad going at all.

As soon as I heard you say "5lb hooklength" I thought that if you catch a barbel of any reasonable size you are either going to play the fish almost to death, or get snapped off. Lo and behold; another barbel with a hook left in its mouth.

That can’t be 1day ago

5lb hook link is irresponsible in these circumstances
