Frank Oz was the diplomat that visited David in the hospital. He's the voice of Yoda, Miss Piggy of the Muppets (shown in one of David's violent dreams) and many others. He's directed a number of movies as well.

I used to work at Tottenham Court Road underground station. It is a very eerie place when it's deserted and closed to the public overnight.

Won the 1982 Academy award for Best Makeup

They didn't shoot him sooner because cops in the UK don't carry guns. They had to wait for the special unit to arrive.

Every song is a moon reference
Saw this as a kid...loved it!!!

Michael Jackson chose John Landis to direct his music video Thriller after watching this movie.

The cab driver was the actor who played Brick Top in the movie, Snatch.

I've seen this several times since the 80s and i've also watched a lot of reactions.  I especially love when the credit music starts and the look on reactors faces.  I think Hereditary does the same thing.  I've come to think about the concept of an American Werewolf, a sort of idea about optimism and confidence, maybe denial.  It's really dark but it cracks me up every time when she says "David, I love you" and it cuts to the blank werewolf reaction.

This was the first to win best makeup as a regular category. Two previous movies had one special awards for makeup in the 60s,including the original Planet of the Apes.

Not recognizing Frank Oz is wild.  Most distinct voice, like ever.  All special effects were Rick Baker, and yes, he won an oscar for this.  The puppetry for the decomposed Jack character in the porno theater was done by Griffen Dunne, the actual actor that played Jack.

Fun fact: the porno is actually fake and made by John Landis just for the film.

That’s Fozzie Bear. He the voice for the muppet Fozzie Bear

the people in the slaughtered lamb are protective of the werewolf and secretive of the murders because the werewolf can only be killed by a loved one, and the man with the shotgun is the father

Frank Oz definitely does look like Tobias lol Great to see you guys taking on some horror movies this October!

They created the makeup Oscar category because of this film

I saw this when it came out in the movies. I remember it was a late show 11 or 12 midnight. It’s creepy but pretty good.

Rick Baker´s SFX got an Oscar, well deserved! Its THE Werewolf Movie, next to "The Howling" which was released the next year. If you liked the dark humour, check out "Dog Soldiers"! A great movie, and this time its actually an english/UK movie. Go for it!

Such a classic, what a great film!

So impressed you guys know credence.

As an American, the only element in this film that pushes the bounds of credulity is that you can get a flat like that in a posh section of London on an NHS nurse's salary!     🤔🤔🤔
