Red British and blue French for sure. Mine always were anyways 😂

After the pirates and medieval ranges, always liked and wished I could have gotten that massive fort from the cowboys and Indians range

I love your Lego Minifig-inspired paint schemes. Such wonderful videos!

Definitely Red for British and Blue for French!

Blew my mind as a young'un when the Spanish-y ones came along too

This is such a fun idea, the biggest issue I see is my wife has a very large lego collection and I can see a lot of new projects coming, perhaps a lego themed viking war band for Pillage.

Definitely want to see Ice World next; that was my favorite LEGO space range.

I only had the Lego Pirate Skull Island set, loved that when I was a kid.

I think as a kid I thought they had two different uniforms the same way real people in the military wore different color uniforms. Sometimes a guy on TV was in green, or he could be in blue, or dark blue, green camo or tan camo. Of course adults had their reasons for all that, but that's what the world is like when you're a small child, things are the way they are and you really don't have any idea why. In this case it's because adults at LEGO wanted to refresh the range and have the soldier faction wear red coats, so it seemed like you were buying something new.

You are without a doubt the best pirate I've ever heard of.

I just painted that box of dwarves and elves in your background, built my daughter a little castle for them

Ooh. I like the theme here. Reminds me of the lego sets I used to have. Gave them all to a younger cousin, but now I'm reminded of another idea I had. I had a project of building a duo of warships to acts as a warcry board. I had planned how they would be tangled together so that there would be different levels to fight on. The game is dead, but I might as well build that. Going to get use at some game, eh? Excellent topic on the video. Helps in dragging forth some old ideas that are worth revisiting.

According to a quick google the early sets, blue coats, were indeed based on French Navy/Military and the latter sets, red coats, were based on the English forces. But that's an AI answer so can't count it as 100% legit.

I'm really loving this mini series and hope you continue to do more. What we need is a Lego based TT game, sure you could just use "insert games name" rules but I feel we need something that feels very Lego.

I had the same little boat. I wanted the ships. I did have a lot of knights though 😊

Can I give you a tip and you probably already know this?

If you want to write letters numbers or create little symbols on your miniatures, get yourself some nail art dotting tools and you can use them like ballpoint pens.

Love how you break these schemes down for those starting out. Great work again.

I remember when these 1st appeared - the blues came 1st, then the reds were added the following year. The rifles and pistols were quite a surprise back then, as the original Mr. Lego didn't want the range to make anything related to war! - - - Make Scrivo happy... Iceworld next.!!

Ice world Lego next! Love you Peachy!

Can we please make this a recurring series? I'd love to see a few of the abandoned lines Lego did in the early- to mid-2000s (when my kids were little and we were buying Legos). The Viking line, Pharaoh's Quest, Atlantis, Chima. All of those would make amazing miniatures/dioramas, and I'm sure you could find a miniatures-agnostic rule set that would allow you to use a warband made from them.

This is AWESOME! Lego Pirates is such a good theme to lean on. It's like our Lego guys get to grow up, too. :) I love what great results you are able to get with the AP markers. You make this look easy, and you make it look SO good! Makes me want to grab some pirates and get to work like a scurvy dog! Thanks for this, Sir Peach!

This made me think of the old LEGO audio cassettes. There were a whole bunch of pirate adventures. Might be a cool way to come up with some inspiration for scenarios (and characters), if you ever want to play a campaign with those minis.
