Hi Mel. Just watched your video. I usually make mine with uht milk plus 1/3 cup powdered milk and yoghurt culture. I am going to try your version. I too have made dips, some call the strained yoghurt labna. I've also made cheesecake and agree you would not know the difference except it is a lot cheaper making your own. Love your videos, you always make me smile with your presentation and taking the mickey out of yourself as we Aussies say
Store bought yoghurt has become very expensive! As soon as I had finished watching this I got straight up and made some. Thanks so much for showing us how easy and economical it is to make your own.😊
Hi Mel, I love your presentations. I have made your yogurt recipe several times now and it worked beautifully each time. I am so delighted! Previously I used to make it the more tedious way. Your recipe works out heaps cheaper for me too. Once the yoghurt is set, you can't tell it was powdered milk used.
Hi Mel,hope all is well with you and family, thanks so much for the wonderful video, wow you basically have three in one here, how cool is that, the yogurt would be absolutely amazing with rolled oats, and the cheese would be a delight with some toast, then you have the gold dust, awesome stuff mel,and those lids come in handy to,dont need to buy any,i had absolutely no idea you can actually use one of those plastic lids,to close your jars,i'm always learning something everyday, which is a good thing, thanks again for the wonderful video, take care guys, enjoy your evening, hope you all have a wonderful weekend.-)
Hi Mel. Thanks for your recipe. Not having a mason jar or a yoghurt maker, I experimented using jam jars. I put them in my pressure cooker and put boiling water into it. Then used the “yoghurt” setting for 9 hours. Worked perfectly! Such an easy recipe 😊
I make mine just with real milk and live culture (held back from the last batch). No yoghurt maker… I wrap an inexpensive seedling heat mat around the vessel and set the temperature to 38c. I make 4 litres at a time that way. Easy as.
It’s more expensive but making your own yoghurt is next level if you make it with a premium, high cream whole milk. Can definitely taste the difference. 😋
Hello, love every recipe and have made your Hot Cross Buns this year they were a HIT! Some yoghurt questions. Did you start with a store bought Yoghurt or did you originally start with a culture? Do you have specific milk power that works best for you. I tried the yoghurt and ended up with a split result. Would love to make what you ended up with. I noticed that the kettle had boiled some time ago, should the water be off the boil? Look forward to your response. Go well David
I’ve just found you today (28/2). And I bought a yogurt maker from Lakeland stores a few weeks ago, I’ve only tried it once and was impressed even though it was a bit grainy but I will be having ago with your recipe and I going to try the cream cheese as well. BTW I loved your cream bun recipe, not tried it yet and remember my mum making these years ago. I’m from 🇬🇧 xx
This is a very economical way to make a favourite snack/cereal topper/cream cheese. I have always used fresh milk so am limited by the amount in the bottle. Using dried milk gives me lots more options. I use a thermos flask to make my yoghurt which again limits the amount made but am now looking for a yoghurt make similar to yours. 😊😊😊
That’s great can you send me the full recipe please and how much of the yogurt do you spoon out the next day to make cream cheese please and I need to use light lactose free milk and powder if it comes in light I’m from Melb ❤️
Hi Mel, I have A Sister Melinda too. 🥰. But , just bought my maker like yours, just about to make my yoghurt. I absolutely Love your style, your tips- You. Thank you for starting your channel. I rarely comment as I always watch on TV this is the third time watching this one, gotta go and make my yoghurt. 👋From SE Qld. Oh Where do you get you jars please? I have plenty of the Moccona jar lids, now just need my mason jars- another great tip, thank you so much.
Hi Mel! I’ve just made your yogurt. It’s so easy and thick but it tastes too much like the milk powder. Could that be due to me using a generic brand of milk powder?
