Got this model in steel finish and gold dial, found a period correct Citizen bracelet to fix the head on and it's a peach. Dial and movement work perfectly , this design is so 70's and along with the Pogue are my favourite Japanese chronographs. Look forward to seeing you complete the work. Bravo!!
I thought that, by watching this video (even before it was made) I'd muster the courage to open my octagonal case Citizen 8110 panda dial, instead, I'm curled up in a ball in a dark corner of the room, trembling. The takeaway is: I'm light years away from having the skill set to even take apart that movement, let alone put it back together successfully. It will have to go to the bottom of the to-do list and keep working on my practice movements.
Thank you for this and all of your videos! Cheers.
This video is a testament to the power of "just diving into it" to get something done. Granted, if I just dove into this, the outcome would have been more like landing in a swimming pool with no water in it. :)
My father bought a gold dial, brown greenish case Citizen Bullhead back in 1981 and used it for 30 years (he was a pilot). It was the first watch that amazed me when I was a child. Luckily I was able yo restore I a few months ago and it's running perfectly (flyback sometimes doesn't work properly). I love Tarantino and it made me soo happy that Brad Pitt used it in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
