Congratulations Rob and Ed for making it to 200K. Keep up the great work!

Love Unraid!

20+ years in IT here. Several years on TrueNAS = multiple unrecoverable failures, plus a community of stuck-up, unfriendly tech types. Three years on Unraid = zero problems, painless disk expansion, rock-solid Docker/VM support, and a community that’s actually welcoming. Easy choice for me.

200k is crazy it should be millions

Without spaceinvader1 and his handholding tutorials on Unraid, I would NEVER EVEN GET CLOSE to achieving what I have on my server, as well as the unraid forums are amazing. I would be dead in the water with TrueNAS and that difference in youtube tutorial availability is what made me go with Unraid to begin with.

Classic computing choice: UNRAID easier, TrueNAS more flexible / powerful.

Congrats on the 200k 🎉 I honestly assumed you were in the millions because the quality is just that good!

Congratulations on 200K, thoroughly deserved. Keep up the good work.

And here, some money for you. I have been watching many of your videos for a few years. Always lots of useful information and all my NAS choices of the last few years were at least partly decided by information from your channel and/or website. Thanks! Keep up the good work!

I'd love to see this channel do comparisons of Unraid years ago and today. I remember getting Unraid years ago,. and only 1 (?) person was working on it.. now they have a larger team. It's night and day difference between setting up today to years ago.

I tried TrueNAS last year on a UGreen DXP6800 Pro. Didn't like it, it was just too technical for me. I'm sure that had I persevered I would have eventually gotten the basics figured out, but I really didn't feel like the learning curve I was facing.

Unfortunately, back then I made the mistake of selling it all and staying with the Synology I had.

This year, I went at it again. Obviously more expensive given the increased price of storage. But still, I'm glad I did it. This time, I went with Unraid which now has been running for over a month and for me, it's the ideal middleground between Synology and TrueNAS.

Unraid had just introduced the boot-from-SSD capability so no USB boot necessary anymore. :)

Cheers to 200k! You guys are extremely hard workers with (daily?) uploads constantly keeping me in the loop and helping me learn new things. Y'all deserve it!

Big Congratulations, keep it going

Unraid user who passed through an hba to a trueNAS vm to have zfs before native support.

Congrats getting to 200k! I swear there should be at least another zero at the end of that number for being the NAS GOAT. I look forward to that day.

As an Unraid user for over 15 years (since version 4.7), it was good to see an up to date comparison. For me, the ability to mix drive capacities was the primary reason for the choice, and for me, it still is. The many features added since have helped it to remain relevant.
