As a business owner myself and on the fly mechanic, I was getting irritated the way the dealership blamed the tech not to mention the way he phrased the excuses. Dishonesty is bad business and I've stopped dealing with any dealership at this point that shows even any signs of malicious behaviour, business wise as I want my customers happy and to never come back. Ever since I've educated people on learning about their vehicles, many of the dealerships couldn't fool these people anymore and I ended up getting called more times than I could handle, to either diagnose or fix their vehicles. I was just a one man show at the time. I was built on honour, honesty, respect and responsibility. Dave, I love the way you and your employees be the living example of that. Keep being the amazing souls you are.

That shady dealer needs to be exposed for scamming customers out of $2500 when they can get that repair basically for free as a recall. Hopefully he gets fired for doing that dealer i guarantee he's not the only one who already paid him that money not realizing they could have got it for free

i cant believe someone from a dealer would hang up on you, You were very polite to him. The reason he hung up is he was getting himself in a twist and didnt know what he was talking about, Good work Dave

Guy on the phone knew you were on to his B.S. and that they charged for something they shouldn't have and it wasn't the techs fault, it was his.

Veteran mechanic here from Canada. Painful watching this episode with all the bs from the dealership. Those customers look like great folks and they are quite knowledgeable. No one deserves that from the dealership. Warms my heart to see Dave helping them out. Painful. Hope it all works out well for them.

I am a 5th generation UAW Chrysler Corp employee, and let me tell you. The most deceptive lowlife lying people are at these dealership shops. I myself at one time shut down for a week at a dealership due to this very same situation on an EFI electrical system failure on a week old brand new 2500 Laramie. They ended up taking the truck back and giving me another truck for free of charge. So if they would do it to an actual employee of the manufacturer, what makes anyone think they wouldn't do it to anyone else.

24:34 as a former service advisor that's a bunch of B.S. the service advisor is responsible for knowing everything in the recalls as much as the tech is. The ball was dropped by poor training, finger pointing, and an absent warranty admin who didn't catch it and address it. I'm pissed for him. That entire service department failed him. I hope Chrysler sees this, investigates, and helps this gentleman out. That's total B.S.
