This is a travelogue of a stay at Kanegaya, a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) in Dai Onsen, which retains a strong Showa-era atmosphere and accepts solo travelers. Of course, it's a hot spring inn with free-flowing natural spring water, but it's also a bit run-down. Incidentally, day-use bathing is also available. We also visit Seika no Yu, a nearby day-use facility (both in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture). ↓Table of Contents below.
