Black South African here. Interesting and important conversation. One footnote, Zionism is not a unique settler colonial project. It was born in the waters of European imperialism and white supremacy. It explains why the political elites throughout Europe, with the exception of very few capitals, unashamedly are unconditional supporting the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. It is also why apartheid South Africa was the first country outside the West to recognise Israel. One more thing, international solidarity with the oppressed racially subordinate masses has historically been foundational to the Black freedom movement whether in terms of the anti-colonial struggles on the African continent, the struggle against racial capitalism within the belly of the American empire or struggle against racial injustice by migrant communities within the metropole of the British empire. This is reflected in the UN resolution adopted in the 1980s which states that colonised people have a right to resist with any means necessary. The resolution is foregrounded in the South African and Palestinian experiences of settler colonialism and resistance.

Thank you for this much needed episode. 🤲🏿

Amazing pod. One of the most honest conversations I’ve heard in awhile. Refreshing. Thank you gentlemen and Free Palestine

much needed conversation, thank you both for speaking out so powerfully and consistently.

Everytime kweli speaks my antennas are up!

Thanks for recognizing the British,  Balfour declaration of 1917, and the 109 year war on Palestine. Setter colonial regimes worldwide got to be defeated.

Thank yall for all these discussions, while it may feel your duty, in the midst, it presses on me to understand how to use myself in my little world for the same, rather than sink in overwhelm. WIP but I feel it bubbling❤
