December 2025. Christmas food shopping, festive groceries, and a quiet December day in the South Wales valleys. In this video, I share my Christmas food haul and talk through what I’ve bought for Christmas Day and beyond, including seasonal vegetables, festive treats, stuffing, gravy, and this year’s Christmas dinner choice. After 25 years living in London, I’ve returned to my birthplace in Wales and now journal my slower, more grounded life in the mountains. This vlog captures a simple winter’s day — cups of tea, village walks, rain clouds over the valley, cafés closing for the season, and preparing for Christmas at home.

I also share plans to harvest my own Christmas potatoes from the homestead, reflect on food choices and health, and talk honestly about the build-up to Christmas and the comfort of familiar routines.

Welcome to my video journal following my new life in Wales after 25 years living in London. A career in television and film took me to London but in my 40's I became disillusioned with the industry. It took many years of soul searching to realise that I craved a quieter life, a slower pace amongst a rural environment, ideally in the mountains and living off the land by a stream. My health over the past decade hasn’t been great so am aiming to reduce my body weight and become fitter and healthier as my 50's progress. As a child I loved the television series The Waltons and in my own way I’m recreating my own John Boy’s journal. So feel free to follow my journey as I aim to become as self-sufficient as possible and learning from the old skills along the way.
