RIP to this entire cast of great actors: Gene Wilder, Teri Garr, Gene Hackman, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Kenneth Mars, et al.

Him saying "Financee" instead of "Fiancee" is a joke, he's the gold digger.

The blind man is played by (the late) Gene Hackman.

Gene Hackman ad-libbed The Blindman's parting line "I was gonna make espresso." The scene immediately fades to black because the crew erupted into fits of laughter. Hackman was unable to repeat the line without laughing with the rest of the crew, so the first take was used. Hackman was uncredited when the movie was originally released in theaters.

Marty Feldman (Eyegor) absolutely stole every scene he was in. Dude was hilarious.

Fun Fact: The equipment in the laboratory in this movie are the same props from the original Frankenstein film.

The elderly man that gets kicked in the nurtz is the guy that plays the reverend in Blazing Saddles.

The jokes are more apparent if you see the 1930s films this movie is derived from, especially Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein.

When Elizabeth came out at the end to get in bed with "the creature," she was wearing the same type of hair that The Bride of Frankenstein had WAY back in the 30s.

Willy Wonka might be Gene Wilder's most iconic character, but his performance in Young Frankenstein is without a doubt his greatest, and I wish more people would think the same.

It wasn’t a Mel Brookes film, but I think you would love a comedy western starring Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford called “The Frisco Kid”.

In 1974 my dad's employers transferred him to a new position in another city. The rest of the family stayed behind so we kids could finish out the school year and our mom could see to the details of selling the house, before we finally joined him to move into our new home. So there he was, alone in a city where he knew nobody, and he got pretty lonely. At one point, just for something to occupy his mind, he went and saw Young Frankenstein, and even though he wasn't usually a fan of silly, goofy comedy, somehow he ended up loving it. He went back to see it three or four times a week for several weeks, and never got tired of it. In subsequent years, whenever the movie came on TV he'd tune in to watch, and he loved having all of us there to watch it with him.

Gene Hackman as the blind man was a riff on a scene in “Bride of Frankenstein” and Kenneth Mars as Inspector Kemp was spoofing Inspector Krogh in “Son of Frankenstein”. RIP to all the people who passed in this movie

Frau Blucher was played by one of the greatest comedic actors of all time, Cloris Leachman.

The reference is American.
It's from the Chattanooga choo choo.
"Pardon me, boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?" "Yes, yes, Track 29!" "Boy, you can give me a shine."

You don't get the full flavor of this parody if you haven't seen the original Universal horror films from the 1930's. The parody is very faithful to those movies, especially the extravagant over-acting.

@13:27 “I didn’t realize violins were warm after you played with them.”
Well ya’ gotta set the mood first. A few drinks, some dancing, maybe a walk under the stars ✨.

Rest In Peace Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, Teri Garr, and Gene Hackman. 🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀

Eight out of ten on IMDB? This is a 10\10 of all comedies ever made. It's  a masterpiece.
