I rode the Bow Valley and Icefields Parkway NOBO in 2025. Arguably one of the most powerful, hardest, humbling, beautiful, rewarding, amazing, bicycling experiences I've ever had. I would be lying if I said the experience didn't change me in some ways forever.
When I was in Mosquito Creek, I had some trail magic (shared their camp space with me. From a lovly couple from Colorado. Also, again, a day later, just north of Columbia Glacier (roadside expresso!!). They had traveled the Icefields Parkway 3x in their lives by bike!
The man Bruce told me something that stuck with me.....
"The Icefields Parkway is where cyclists go after death, to spend eternity riding"
I feel that is true. One of the most beautiful rides on earth!
Ahhhh long awaited. Still loving the style. Of the report and of the journey. Thanks for using your time to edit and share. note: lost something at 9:15
Jordon, when were you there, on what date did you cross around, 1:08. I felt so sad when it all burned down in 24 forest fires. I was there in August 23. The whole area was so beautiful. My heart and prayers even today, go out to the very friendly and hospitable people and families who lost so much, not to forget the wildlife that was also destroyed.
