Bless people like you. I have autism and to see my route before hand really helps me fight anxious thoughts. Thank you

Portugal 🇵🇹 is on my travel list 🧳

As a local we mostly take buses like Rede Expressos or Flixbus from Lisbon to Porto (unlike tourists). They are significantly cheaper and take 3 hours. CP Trains suffer from constant strikes, delays and just random malfunctions, not very trustful (although Alfa Pendular suffers less)

We rode the high speed train from Porto to Lisbon. Nice comfortable ride. We preferred Porto over Lisbon. -Marc

Have been to both . Both are good to visit,  Lisbon just has a lot more to see and do.

I did this train two years ago from Coimbra to Lisbon. My observation was that the train ride was silky smooth and I barely noticed the tilting, and I get motion sickness from video games. I also agree with you about Oriente station in Lisbon. From a distance, it looks spectacular but it's cold and dark on the inside and I felt really small there.

Dude, the train tilts on turns in order to take advantage of centrifugal force. In this way your body gets pushed to the floor instead from side to side... also allows to travel faster with reduced risk of getting out of the rails... anyway.  Nice video. keep up with the good work. bests

Porto is one of my regular travel destinations because that's where I currently train Taekwondo. Porto is the second largest city in the country, with Coimbra being the third largest. Good work. ✌

I can´t believe you haven´t visited BRAGA. The train station is downtown and it´s a very beautiful touristic city with over 2000 years of history.

The train tilts like a pendulum...that's where its name came from...while curving the train inclines...tilts to be able to do the curves at Higher speed.

Just left that same train "Alfa" from Porto to Lisbon 1hour ago... I love to travel on that train, very confortable! It's worth the ride!! Awesome video BTW!! You captured what this train is all about! :)

Wonderful tour.  I did some checking and found that the Acela in the Northeast of the USA only occasionally goes as fast as 160 kph.  And I'll say it so you don't have to:  The USA and Canada are very far behind in train networks.

Thanks for the review. Enjoy Porto, friend. Welcome!

Pity you didn't show it going over the river. I'd just like to add that people 65+ pay half fare on trains in Portugal. Just show your passport when buying the ticket.

Awesome video. Really useful info. I'm visiting Lisbon and Porto this May, and I'm sure this will come in handy.

Great video as always, added Portugal to places to visit in the future 😄

Great video. The tilting of the train allows it to maintain higher speeds on curves. This line is very popular, as you could see, and busy so soon they will start building a new full high speed line between the two cities and later to the boarder with Spain (northern side to Vigo). A second high speed line from Lisboa to Spain (on the eastern side through Badajos to Madrid) has a first section that should open next year and the full section (hopefully) in 2032.
Both cities are amazing and different. Oporto is a wonderful place but if you can try going out of the cities.
Will you be visiting Spain next?

Great video, my friend! 👍
It is, in fact, a comfortable train for a long trip.
You just forgot to say that this train, Alfa Pendular, reaches 230 kilometres per hour during the long tracks to Porto city.

Canada is a beautiful country that I should visit one day.
I'm Portuguese, who loves history, and a small detail: the name of "Portugal" country comes from the name of the city "Porto", which has a harbour "Cale" (from old languages), which forms the name "Portocale", later "Portugal".

The tilting is what allows the train to keep up speed at the curves. Otherwise railways would have to be very straight, which is not easy on Portuguese landscape.
