The 80' Chipmunks cartoon had an episode where they tear down the Berlin wall (or the fake Chipmunks version) with the power of music, and the actual Berlin wall fell less than a year later. I had to look this up and thought they happened closer together

i just opened youtube just to see peak in my subscription box

Chipmunks Adventure is basically like watching that one old Disney movie you loved as a child and then get to that one racist scene you repressed

I watched Chipwrecked once as a child and had SOS stuck in my head for YEARS

Has anyone see the ship edits of Dave and Ian though 👀

“cinematic universe” is a strong word 😭

As a child I had a hyper fixation on Alvin and the Chipmunks. I still have most of their CDs and DVDs that I got as a child. Can't wait to watch this!

The chipmunks fighting over the mango reminded me of Lord of the Flies. 😭

The first two 2000's movies came out in the winter. My mom took my sister and I to see the first one while my dad took my brothers snowboarding. They came home with a torn rotator cuff and broken wrist between the 3 of them. The second movie came out and my mom took us girls to the movie...while my dad took my brothers boarding again. We joked they should stay safe because of the "Chipmunk Curse". My dad broke his hand that trip....We still talk about the Chipmunk Curse.

I really REALLY recommend the two straight to DVD movies you didn’t cover in the video. Or at least one of them, specifically Alvin and the Chipmunks meet The Wolfman. It’s got that cute 80s style animation despite releasing sometime around 2000, the soundtrack is custom made for the movie and is a banger instead of being a jukebox musical like the CGI movies we also grew up with, and I’m pretty sure it’s the only Theodore centered movie in existence. It’s such a comfort movie to me I used to watch it on repeat when I was sick as a very young child (I’m also autistic and for me I’ve always liked to watch movies over and over again without breaks especially when upset or sick). It’s my favorite chipmunks movie of all time it is genuinely so charming and fun. There’s also Alvin meets Frankenstein but honestly Frankenstein isn’t really in that one all that much and I think it’s rather disappointing, that one could be renamed Alvin goes to Hollywood and the title would’ve been more accurate.

13:19 “wait… guys, we could just like, turn this off!” -lula

Please cover that aaallvvvviiin show. I’ve watched a lot of it but just can’t get over how bad the show is at ending episodes.

I wish I could do an over the top music number instead of facing my problems.

36:09 did the animators just get lazy and use their rendered models as their passport photos? 😭Theodore is quite literally t-posing.

Also noting that Tim Hill also worked on SpongeBob SquarePants too.

is this a safe space to say alvin wuz my first crush as a kid

Alvin and the Chipmunks is my childhood. I’ve grown up with all of the movies and the TV show.

Even though the live action movies that are utter and complete crap, they are kind of a guilty pleasure for me

And as someone who also covered Alvin in the chipmunks and it’s entirety, you did a far better job than I did for deep diving into Alvin and the Chipmunks lore 🎉

AATC is the whole reason why my favorite animal is a chipmunk I was leaving my high school to load on the bus and the classroom I was walking through was playing the second movie and then I asked about at the next day then when I got home, I did research and I ended up falling in love with the franchise. And about my FURSONA, I’m a superhero, and I’m also an anomaly. for context I graduated in 2014. oh, and the sequel I’m referring to was the second live action movie. oh and during my research my favorite episodes of the 80s and or 90s cartoon were the episodes a chipmunk story and a Chipettes story respectively. They’re so fucking adorable as babies. 🩵 ❤️ 💚 and 💜 🩷 💛 🐿️ 🩲 ⚪️

My headcanon is that their musical knowledge in the first movie comes from listening to the really loud radios of the cars passing by. Just blasting those tunes. Also, "Bad Day" IS the kind of melancholy song you'd openly play while sulking in the nearby forest to clear you head after something sucky happened, not knowing chipmunks were listening, and evidently, relating.

1:16  omg the obsession I used to have over this series it's so stupid from what I remember
