There were close influences of Zoroastrianism on Islam from its very early days.Salman al-Farsi was a close companion to the Prophet and the Prophet said: "Salman is from us, the Ah-al-Bayt". Salman was ex-Zoroastrian priest from Persia. At the Battle of the Trench (Khandaq), the entire city of Medina was saved because of Salman’s Persian military knowledge. He was one of the Prophet’s closest, most trusted, most beloved companions, and the historical sources are unusually unanimous about this. Salman the Persian also translated parts of the Qur’an into Persian for new converts. Salman al-Farsi was trained in fire-temple duties, first converted to Christianity and then became the Prophet's close companion. So, there were close influences of Zoroastrianism on Islam from its very early days.

The three major influences of Salman al-Farsi: Here are the three influences in one line each:
1. Military: Introduced the trench strategy that saved Medina.
2. Spiritual: Brought deep interfaith knowledge that enriched early Islamic understanding.
3. Cultural: Became the model for integrating non Arab converts, shaping Islam’s universal identity.
These three are historically solid, widely accepted, and deeply meaningful.

Choosing the fire as a symbol is very sensible at the time the religion was started. Fire was supposed to be maintain and most necessary and kind of sacred element in that time in that society. Very good and very perfect choice of the symbol. Genius.

Salman al-Farsi had lived through: Zoroastrianism; Christianity; Monastic asceticism; Scriptural traditions; Prophetic expectations. Salman al-Farsi was one of the few companions who had: studied multiple religions. This was RARE in the mostly nomadic Arabia. The Persian traveller Salman’s presence helped break the idea that Islam was “only for Arabs” He showed that non Arabs could reach the highest spiritual rank; encourage Persians and other groups to join. Salman al-Farsi shaped Islam’s identity as a universal religion, not a tribal one; His life demonstrated that: Islam is not ethnic, not confined to nomads and Arabs — it is open to all. This was a huge cultural shift in the early Islamic community. Salman became a bridge of interfaith understanding. He explained Persian and Christian ideas to early converts; he clarified similarities between the known scriptures in the Middle East. He helped early Muslims understand non Arab religious concepts; He shaped the community’s approach to converts from other cultures. Finally, Military Influence — The Trench Strategy (Khandaq): Battle of the Trench. Salman introduced a Persian defensive tactic unknown to the Arabs. He had the experience of the mighty Persian empire with him.
