Might be even more true this season since tier 3 magic pen boots are insane compared to berserkers tier 3 upgrade

its almost like when you have abilities that are actually useful, you're always viable even if you get perma camped

great vid, ur a goat xpecial i started this game when yasuo released in 2013, my fav team was og c9 but i remember u dyrus, theoddone, bjerg, and wildturtle, love ur vids

It feels like a second ago we had 3 to 4 adc’s on each team lol
I’m not mad about this. I’m STILL so over that

What do you do against mage and engage in bot lane. The second some opportunity to damage them comes, it's at an angle the engage sup can stun you easily, then the mage can clean up an adc from half hp. It feels like there's no opportunity to play aggressive, a mage's weaknesses are nullified with a half decent support. Should I just go cull mode and take whatever scrap of minions the mage allows me to have? Then wait till 40 mins into the game to get my 3rd item?

Which is insane because ADCs tend to feel better dueling in midlane, which means melee assasins will probably be displaced to the jungle or top lane
Its crazy how the game balances itself out

Has anyone else went into the combination of Hwei APC and Veigar Support? It is so annoying and they can poke me even when I’m under tower (and they kill me and my support under tower without receiving turret damage), I have no idea how to play against this matchup. Please give me some tips if possible, thank you 😢😢

Pro tip: play double bruiser bot so you can kill the mages

I think you've missed something very notable in the difference between pro play and solo queue, coordination. A lot of what you pointed out here is great but it misses how much easier it is to get opportunities to output your damage as a mage bot vs. adc. In solo queue positioning as an adc is extremely important and restricts what potential plays you can make since even in higher elo your team won't always peel for you when they should. For the same reason its also harder to punish the mage bot lane since you won't always be able take advantage of their weaknesses, it ultimately comes down to your support or jg following up. You're just simply able to make full use of your champ much more consistently since like you pointed out adcs must stay alive to output their damage. It's a big part of why adc is so powerful in pro play yet on average have the lowest wrs out of every other role on most of their champs in solo queue. One minor error an positioning can mean life or death for an adc with today's damage more so than any other class.

CC is still king and Burst damage still too good

This video did not age well. Now we have heavy double AP bot that can clear and push WAY faster than adc. They are now getting combat summs rather than TP. The nerf on AD ratios for "200%" crit is fake and actually does worse for crit adc's as they all had a loss of about 20% dps. While AP is heavily getting gold efficiency and levels.

Man these tips are huge

whats the deal with zed feeling like COMPLETE DOOKIE

Xerath and velkoz are bis down there

What if enemy mage picks something else instead of teleport?

I don't disagree with what you say. But your analysis ignores the existence of supports.

The reason mage apc feels so much better to play is because of supports.
When you have a bad support as adc, oftentimes you just have to sac waves and let your team coinflip topside. But when you're apc, you just oneshot the wave under tower, and base tp when you're low.
When you have a good support, apc waveclear allows the support to roam more and impact the map more than if it were adc.

Take the example you provided with the adc vs apc matchup, adc is supposed to pressure apc early, yeah. But that assumes the support knows that and will execute on it too. Which is not in your sphere of influence as adc.

Unfortunately I think adc is just too reliant on external factors (mainly support and jungle) to feel relevant right now. And even when fed or scaled, 90% of their damage can be shut down just by killing them first. Mages are simply more consistent, people just enjoy playing marksmen more.

Cuz they easier, but a good normal adc will always be better imo

Yes Meta shift is real

i mean mages pickrate is actually higher in high elo than low elo
