Wow. I’ve been researching and watching videos of flagship arrangers and this is the first time YouTube suggested a video about Ketron, a brand totally unknown to me before today.
Press the View & Modelling tab on the display. Press the LOWER tab on the left side of the display. Select the desired sound by pressing the corresponding Voice tabs. Press the SETTINGS tab on the right side of the display to adjust voice parameters.
It seems that Ketron has finally advanced to the top tier of arranger creators, not just in terms of sound but also software.
Another great demo Leigh. Very James Last sounding. As a Genos 2 lover, the lack of right 1 & 2 buttons would put me off. Much prefer the simpler things in life 😊
Strongest point of the ketron is using a module in combination with my Genos.. it realy adds a lot of fun.. the audio parts of the styles add a live feel.. and the extra voices can be mixed with the genos voices, as you said espescially having 2 or 3 voices on the left hand is great.. also layering a string sound with some of the Genos ensembles on the right hand is really nice
Hi Leigh.... I've come to the conclusion that you'd sound great even on a casio😆 your harmonising skills under the lead notes is on another level, especially the string orchestrations. Thanks again for a great video 🔥
I do not know any musician (with the exception of maybe Martin Harris) who has mastered playing arranger keyboards like Leigh has. I think the time has come for him to hopefully make a video (for us to purchase) that shows keyboard players the way to becoming accomplished at arranger keyboard playing. His chord progressions and the way he makes it all look so easy are masterful. I have seen videos of Leigh on Yamaha, Korg and Ketron arrangers and he excels on all of them.
Excellent video Leigh, I look forward to the next one this keyboard. Strings are absolutely stunning as is the brass. Had to chuckle at you trying to find a mandolin. The bouzouki is a Greek instrument which sounds a bit ‘dead’ compared to a mandolin and the Tsizago or whatever it was called is a balalaika - Russian and much more ‘plucky’. Headphone output being poor should mean an immediate fix from Ketron as with the missing Pedal Steel.
Would I be tempted to buy? Well, I’d watch further videos from you on their keyboard first. However, the major put off is that the keyboard is grossly over-priced. Why would you pay a Grand more than for a Genos2? I’d take a lot of persuading to splash that much cash. I do wonder how it would sound in tandem with a Genos2 though. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it.
Leigh - as always, good presentation. What was preventing you from FULLY expressing yourself as you played (trying to avoid triggering the Arranger) is a feature called FILL TO AFTERTOUCH which in your video was ON. This means the AFTERTOUCH (when you press the key harder than it's usual resting place) triggers on the fill in/arranger. You can turn this off by going to MODE - FILLMODE - Make sure Aftertouch is off. If on, you can also set (by touching it again) the sensitivity of when/how hard you play should the aftertouch activate the fill in. Hope this helps.
