Leonardo da Vinci is considered by the world to be one of history's greatest geniuses: a painter, scientist, engineer, inventor, and philosopher.

But the true story of Leonardo da Vinci isn't just the story of the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, or the great art of the Renaissance.

It's the story of a man who wanted to understand everything, from the human body to the movement of water, from flying machines to the universe. But this boundless curiosity led to a life in which many of his greatest works remained unfinished.

After arriving in Rome in 1513, Leonardo didn't receive the respect and work he had hoped for. Artists like Michelangelo and Raphael were advancing rapidly, while Leonardo spent so much time perfecting everything that many projects were never completed.

Then came France, where Leonardo finally found an environment where he was in no hurry to create masterpieces. But age was advancing, his body was failing, and the ability of his right hand was diminishing.

Yet his curiosity remained unabated.

His notebooks contain thousands of observations on anatomy, mathematics, water, machines, flight, geology, and nature. Leonardo's greatest legacy was perhaps not his paintings, but his way of asking questions.

In this video, we share Leonardo da Vinci's full story, along with an uncomfortable question:

Is it necessary to accomplish everything to become great?

Or is our greatest achievement sometimes the one that we offer a new way of seeing and understanding the world?
