Battle of Britain | The Bloodiest Hour Britain Ever Faced.
On August 18, 1940, young RAF fighter pilots and Luftwaffe airmen fought through the single deadliest day of the Battle of Britain, a day bloodier than the far more famous September 15. If you had been an eighteen year old pilot scrambling over Kent that Sunday afternoon, not knowing whether you would see nightfall, what would have been running through your mind? Do you have a family story connected to the Battle of Britain, a relative who served with RAF Fighter Command or the Luftwaffe, or a memory passed down about that desperate summer of 1940? Share your thoughts, your family history, or your own perspective on this overlooked turning point in the comments below. We read every single one and would love to hear from you.
