Spider-Woman IS NOT "Gwen Stacy"

Prowler miles will show our miles that everything special about him was there before he got bit by that spider.

Miguel: "The mask makes you special, you don't deserve to wear it"
Hobie: "You make the mask special, does it deserve you?"

What if Aaron's not laughing because he's not a good guy, but because he and Miles are the only ones fighting back in their world, the only "good guys"

13:04 I feel like the fact that the teleporter sends him to the earth his spider is from instead of his own also reflects how the spider society sees each other as the mask instead of as an individual, focusing on the place where his powers come from (the mask) instead of where miles comes from

That makes total sense for earth 42 miles to teach him he didn’t need to be Spiderman to be great, prediction has to be right

it's also possible that Miles Morales of Earth 42 is also suffering from masking and that there might be expectations attached to the prowler's mask, such as those that uncle Aaron had

The fact Hobie Brown is the ORIGINAL PROWLER cannot be overlooked here narratively.

The whole original premise of Spider-Hobie is "what if the Prowler was Spider-Man?", it's an alternate universe where someone else in Peter's cast becomes Spider-Man, same way as Spider-Gwen, and he's so thoroughly made the role his own that people have collectively forgotten what the character's original label was.

TIL the atm machine and cha tea jokes were hints to the themes all along, as these were labels to things that are already identified as their label.

god I hope you're right about the third film, bc it makes so much sense

I fully expect Aaron-42 laughed because the mere notion of a good guy in Earth-42 is laughable, not because he specifically isn't. Both him an Miles-42 look scary and menacing, sure, but that's because they had to become so. I bet they're the closest thing E42 has to heroes.

all because they are themselves

“Spider-man always does both.”

THIS video is a perfect example of the side effects of not giving a fandom a movie for years😭

"One thing I know for sure, don't do it like me... do it like you!"

- Peter B. Parker

This video proves what I always knew, miles is gonna save his dad, because both movies have been about breaking cannon

14:45 I think you're right. In 42 the world is ran by bad guys. In that world miles 42 is "bad" vs the real bad guys that run things on that world. I think 42 is going to be an ally in the end. Can't wait for the next film.

0:02  Spiderverse 1: Everyone can wear the mask
Spiderverse 2: Don't let the mask wear you.
Bro that is the peakest way to say the moral of the story

The best way to describe this is that the first movie challenges the WHO of Spider-Man, while the other challenges the HOW of Spider-Man.

Spider-Verse is about telling the viewer that no label can define you except those you place upon yourself, A reminder that in most universes where peter is not humbled, he is the villain, and the ones that he is humbled, he is a hero, regardless of whether or not he wears the mask of spider-man. For Miles, his story has always been about learning to trust and believe in himself, and what HE is capable of. he already wanted to do the right thing, but he never believed that he could.

11:17 “GUANG GUANG, ADD MILES MORALES TO MARVEL RIVALS AND MY LIFE IS YOURS”

13:29 HOLY I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING

the Isomniac Spider-Man games have slogans. Peter is "Be Greater", "but Miles is "Be Yourself". If Aaron is accepting Miles as he is, he's pushing out this slogan. Peter needs to "Be Greater", like how Jeff wants Miles to be, because Peter Parker is flawed, and being Spider-Man helps elevate him to be what the mask represents.
Miles has ALWAYS been good. So just "Be Yourself" fits him PERFECTLY. He doesnt need the mask in the sense of becoming greater, because he IS great already.
I think something important is that every Spider-Man needs to define the mask so it suits THEM; so they can have both cakes.
Peter needs to be better.
Miles needs to be himself.
Hobie is already both.

Amazing analysis that reqlly opened my eyes up to the Spiderverse movies. Amazing job dude!
