In the original, the drop of Xenomorph blood would burn holes through multiple floors of the ship...

So basically this is yet another show where the writers can only build tension and suspense by giving all of the characters stupid pills.

Prometheus:  Let's take out helmets off right away because there's oxygen.  Eh, alien viruses, bacteria, or spores be damned!

Getting stabbed by a Alien tale has now become almost as lethal as getting stabbed by a lightsaber.

You could just replace the Xenomorph with any other scary "alien" creature and nothing would change with the story.

Morrow, with his (at minimum) 65 year old technology, comes back to Earth and dominates the latest, greatest technology, computers and programming…..because that’s how that usually works

If that cyborg hasn't been upgraded in 60 years he should be obsolete as all hell.

Not that this would have solved all the problems, but... if it had already been set after Alien 3, they would have had the platform to basically do whatever they wanted.

There's a two-century gap between Ripley's death and Alien Resurrection: 200 years in which you can invent more advanced androids, technologies the Marines didn't have on LV-426, and even new alien species.

The fact that they didn't opt for this idea (considering that after Alien 3, WY was still in business, dismantled only a few decades later) is a clear sign of wanting to remain faithful to the Alien ideal, while also undermining the first two installments.

Alien tails are the new light saber. Non fatal for plot reasons. It's on an island - Aliens can swim really well...

8:25  Besides that, to fight an adult Xenomorph using just a blade Wendy would have to be on "Alita: Battle Angel" levels of combat skill and not just be a child finding out what her new robotic body is capable of.

The idea that the androids are now more powerful than Ash, Bishop, Call or David is absolutely ridiculous

i'm more impressed how a 65 year old android/cyborg computer, can interface and hack so easily.

to compare, this is like using a huge computer from 1960, programmed in COBOL, to interface and even overcome modern encryption.

There is a documentary interview with Scott about the original Alien movie, where he talks about the underlying sexual aspect of the Alien movie. He described it as r*pe, and how it is basically "f*cking" you to death. It is going to ram a tube down your throat and force you to incubate its offspring. A human parasitoid host. He felt that idea carried much more horror and discomfort than a simple predator killing its prey. If you look at the deleted scene of Lambert's death you really feel this level of discomfortable. The Alien is totally focussed on reproduction and its victims are not food, but hosts to be "f*cked". But now they've turned the xenomorph into just another scary beast that kills you quickly and violently. No different than any other alien top predator or generic slasher movie villain.

The reason why the guy who's been gone for 65 years isn't amazed or anything is because the zoomers writing the script aren't smart enough to create technological gaps and advances for him to be amazed at and haven't witnessed any advances themselves and thus can't even grasp the idea.
Remember, all of us lived through watching a number of tech advances as we grew up during the birth and childhood of the digital age.
We remember when cell phones were just phones, we remember video games where the graphics were advertised in how many bits they were, we remember dial up internet and life pre-Google and countless other major tech evolutions which are now just normal tech to everyone.
The under 30 types who are writing these scripts never encountered anything like that and thanks to their disdain for history, know nothing about those things - the Atari 2600 might as well have been part of ancient Greek history for all they care.
As such, they literally can't grasp nor comprehend tech advances like we've seen and thus their characters can't either.

Alien is in good company. Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Terminator, Predator, Indiana Jones, etc etc. There is no IP left uncrapped.

Alien Isolation is the prinicale of Alien sequels.
They made a near perfect alien game, a love letter to Movie 1. A unstoppable, unknown force that you never felt safe against.

Outside of the first two movies, the best thing to come out of this franchise, has been a couple video games like Isolation and some of the comic books. That's really about it.

Xenomorphs just wanted to go for very enthusiastic walks and asked the humans how's their health plan.

Apparently it was great.

The Xenomorph would have ripped Wendy to pieces, the end

the plotarmor on wendys bro is just infuriating
