In Bhagavad Gita Verse 8.3 and 8.4, Shree Krishna answers six of Arjun’s seven questions, leaving the final one—about the moment of death—to be explained in next video.

Why did God create a world full of choices, temptations, and consequences?
Why allow the possibility of sin if the Divine is compassionate and perfect?
Why did God create Maya — this complex illusion where we can do good, do better, or fall into negativity?

Drawing from timeless Vedic wisdom and practical analogies, we understand why God gave humans independence, how karma shapes our destiny, and why love is meaningful only when we have the option not to love. Just as the saying goes, “If there were no grapes, there would be no wine — and no wine addicts,” the world is filled with both opportunities and tests. The spiritual journey is not about eliminating choices but learning how to use them wisely.

BG 8.3: The Lord said: The Supreme Indestructible Entity is called Brahman; one’s own self is called adhyatma. Actions pertaining to the material personality of living beings, and its development are called karma, or fruitive activities.

BG 8.4: O best of the embodied souls, the physical manifestation that is constantly changing is called adhibhūta; the universal form of God, which presides over the celestial gods in this creation, is called Adhidaiva; I, who dwell in the heart of every living being, am called Adhiyajna, or the Lord of all sacrifices.

The Vedas refer to God by many names, one of which is Brahman, described by Shree Krishna as the Supreme Reality that is eternal, indestructible, and beyond time, space, and material cause-and-effect. The Brihadaranyak Upanishad also calls Brahman akshar (imperishable) and Param (Supreme), transcending both maya and individual souls. The term adhyatma here refers to one’s own embodied self—body, mind, and intellect—rather than just spiritual science. Karma means fruitive actions that shape a soul’s repeated births within samsara, the cycle of material existence. The ever-changing physical universe made of the five elements is adhibhuta, while God as the cosmic controller beyond the celestial deities is adhidaiva or the Virat Purusha. As Paramatma, God resides in all hearts, dispenses the results of actions, and presides over sacrifices, thus called adhiyajna.
