That 40k thing is actually massively popular headcanon for many fans, that this movie is some sort of unofficial prequel

So, the cut footage of the extended hellscape sequences are apparently lost because the negatives rotted after being stored in an abandoned salt mine in Romania, I believe. Recovering lost footage of extra gorey horror scenes stored deep in an abandoned mine in Transylvania is a crazy concept for a horror movie on its own.

I never thought I'd hear the words Geller Field, Immaterium and Slaanesh in a CineBinge reaction. George definitely knows his 40K and doing the God-Emperor's good work.

You want another fun Sam Neil film? Watch “In the Mouth of Madness” one of my favorites for just how batshit it is.

Ah yes the very first film showing a "Warhammer 40k" ship.

A Better Hellraiser in Space than the actual Hellraiser that took place in space.

This is why you invent the Gellar field before attempting warp travel.

So this was the first film to do the "paper / pencil" thing , now say 'thank you Event Horizon'

Truly... a top notch Christmas film.

6:49  This movie is where the pencil through the paper illustration came from.

"It's funny."

"My pain?!"

Ah, George already getting into the spirit of the movie I see!

Sam Niel died yesterday so I came here for this. I love Jurassic Park but this film was so unique for him.

I'm surprised George didn't know this movie is almost universally considered canon by 40k players & the writers later admitted it was mildly intentional as they were all players at the time of writing.

Lesson:  Never stick your fingers into a black hole you aren't familiar with.  😂

Sam Neill to his agent after In the Mouth of Madness: "I liked playing crazy. Do you think we can ramp that up by a few levels?"

Don't forget, Sam Neill did play the Antichrist too in the Omen Movies..he had a horror pedigree before this.

"F*** this ship!"
Lawrence Fishburne played the smartest movie character in history.

FUN FACT: They created the Event Horizon Ship with Gothic churches in mind, giving that religious vibe with a sense of cosmic horror

There are many films that have " missing footage " but I really wish the cut footage from Event Horizon still existed, because it would make a fantastic Director's Cut.

Having Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies) state that it "sounds like Latin" is ....MWAH chef's kiss
