Bungie leaving Halo, going to Activision, then getting bought by Sony, while Activision got bought by Microsoft and now are helming Halo is such an absurd turn of events.
Fun fact: When cross core helmets were released in halo infinite (Meaning you can now equip all helmets on all armour cores) all bundles that included helmets got a price increase. 343i said that this was because of the "added value".
As much as it sucks for anyone losing their jobs in this shitty job market, it was insane of Microsoft to let their flag franchise flounder for this long.
Most tragic part will be that we know there were people in there who were passionate about Halo and wanted nothing more than to give us a quality product, but mismanagement led us to where we are.
Infinite was about as close as we’ve gotten to the foundation of a good game from them. And even that foundation was shaky and then left to rot.
It’s hard to imagine how it could get any worse for Halo, but considering we’re getting CoD devs on Halo now, I could see a sidestep in shittyness.
The fact Halo Wars 2, by Creative Assembly, was the best game made in this era is beyond me. As an RTS I get it isn't what most fans think of as "Halo" even with the first Halo Wars being successful, but I think it does capture the spirit of OG Halo. Cretaive Assembly knew what they were doing with that one.
