Final Edit - OI YOU THERE
To anyone coming to watch this video, I would say it's outdated by a tad, and I encourage you to instead see this more refined review I made right here, where I patch up the flaws in this video and add new points that I haven't touched on:

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I GOT 1 MILLION VIEWS ON THIS WHAAAAAAAAAA!!??!?!!???

You can absolutely design Gluttony as aggressively thin, showing that no matter how much they eat they are still hungry. But Beelzebub is definitely not designed this way.

You know it's bad when Pacman is a better depiction of a gluttonous monster.

Viv's designs can be boiled down to "Design first, role in the story second".

She CLEARLY designed these characters in her spare time and THEN decided what role to give them in the story. It's the equivalent of making a shit ton of cool furniture and then deciding where to put it in a room without planning out if they will fit or go togheter at all to make a good looking room.

What i hate the most is vivzie not exploring the idea of hell as a setting and that reflects in her character design, it just sounds like she wanted a quirky location to center the show around, she could've changed hell to LA or NYC and it wouldn't have made a difference; they even made that joke in the show for gods sake

I literally didn't clock that Husk had wings until halfway through the show. My brain just kept tuning them out as visual noise.

7:27

If I looked at Beelzebub, with no knowledge of Helluva Boss and no name attached, I'd assume I was looking at a fursona derived from a legendary fakemon.

I think her problem is she tries too hard to make attractive characters that they come across as like..a twelve year olds rendition of a human bill cipher 99% of the time.

I may be delusional for saying this but Valentino literally is more of a Lust sin than Asmodeus BRUHHH 💔

"DeviantArt core" that's what it feels like

Also the "the cardinal sins are cute so they can lure people" argument really doesn't make sense. If the story took place on earth where humans live, I'd understand that, but they're in hell!
Who are they gonna lure? People that already sinned?

I HATE the bowtie suit combo almost every character has

2:33 And then there’s the hazbin hotel main cast who most of them wear/have the EXACT same shade of red, paired with black and a shade of yellow😊

Vivz style is simpy too reliant on Lorax Onceler

I genuinely thought Ozzie was supposed to be some kind of peacock-colored cobra.

I thought Beelzebub was supposed to look like candy and thats why she was so bright, like making others hungry or something and i was like ok, now i find out its supposed to be a lava lamp??? Bro i cant with this

Mammon looks more of the sin of gluttony then Bee🥀

7:55 Small correction about gluttony. It's not necessarily about overeating, though that is the main association people have. It's about overindulging to the point of being wasteful. As well as food, you can also be gluttonous for drinks like wine or soda, as well as... other things that bring people pleasure. There's overlap with gluttony, lust, and greed for that reason. So while I can see why Viv made Bee a party girl (parties tend to have a lot of food and drink, and Bee can strongly encourage her party-goers to have more and more, giving into her sin), her design still doesn't read "sin of gluttony" and more like "party girl who's a fox made out of lava"
(my friend loves theology and specifically the seven deadly sins, so I've heard many-a-rant about this)

I wish there were more demonic transformations like Stolas'. His scene of "haven't seen a real demon before?" was SO cool and it's sad that none of the others have that same level of horror

6:16 I would LOVE to have a terrifying, giant, biblically half-accurated demon lord Lucifer who is STILL obsessed with duckies
"The Beheaded" really has some good takes on this I must admit
