10 Colombia Towns Where Retirees Are Buying Homes for Under $100,000

I'm retired, and instead of golf I dig through property listings in countries most people never look at, until I find the ones that don't make sense. Colombia had ten of them, and unlike the Philippines, here you own the land.

A house on a quarter acre in the city of bridges. A town that brewed the world's biggest cup of coffee. A house one block from the Caribbean for $72,400. And the last one, $51,300, in a town where people wait for thunder so they can go hunting for ants.

Before you comment: yes, foreigners can own land in Colombia. Article 100 of the Colombian Constitution gives foreigners the same civil rights as Colombians. Your name goes on the escritura (the deed), house and land. Wire the money through a bank so it registers as foreign investment with Banco de la República. And yes, I checked the State Department advisory. Every town in this video is outside the Level 4 areas.

THE TEN TOWNS 👇

Socorro, Santander — $99,600
Honda, Tolima — $96,600
Paipa, Boyacá — $90,600
Dosquebradas, Risaralda — $86,000
Chinchiná, Caldas — $84,500
Melgar, Tolima — $80,900
Mariquita, Tolima — $75,500
Santiago de Tolú, Sucre — $72,400
Calarcá, Quindío — $69,400
San Gil, Santander — $51,300

Which country should I do next? Tell me in the comments and I'll go dig.
