Is the E46 BMW 330i Touring one of the ultimate daily drivers? In this review, I take a closer look at one of BMW’s best-loved 3 Series models to see whether this ageing sports estate still makes sense today.

With its naturally aspirated straight-six engine, practical Touring body, classic rear-wheel-drive layout and timeless design, the BMW E46 330i Touring offers a blend of performance, usability and driver appeal that modern cars often struggle to match.

But is it still a good daily driver in 2026? I look at the design, interior, practicality, performance, driving experience and overall charm of the E46 330i Touring to find out whether this could be the perfect enthusiast estate.

Had a 05 E46 325i M sport touring, definitely one of the best all-round cars I've ever had, handling was superb, power adequate and rather frugal. Not a 330i but certainly fond memories. Nice video ^ new subscriber from New Zealand.

I’ve got a mint 2002 facelift in Titan silver it’s a 330d Msport touring with a manual gearbox I’d never part with mine it’s a stunning car that gets so much attention in fact more than any other car I’ve ever owned and I’ve had loads of nice cars RS turbo fords VW gtis Evo 8 fq and the touring gets more comments out and about…it’ll be 25 years old next year and people try to buy it off me every time I take it out…best car I ever owned hand down…also when you we’re discussing Msport differences you both missed the black headliner…it makes a huge difference ❤️👍

And if you can’t find a E46 Touring, get yourself a E91 Touring. For they are just as good to drive, just a little bit more modern and these days slightly more affordable. I know as I recently bought myself a ‘09 E91 LCI 323i Touring, and yes I have driven a E46 Touring let alone sedan, I also have a ‘06 E90 323i sedan.
