As much of a joke as groin shots are now, they weren't, it was a genuinely useful if amusing feature for melee fighters, and the fact fallout lost melee vats combat is insane

In Survival mode, RadAway adds negative effects such as Fatigue, Hunger, and an increased probability for Infection challenging the player character to only use it when really needed, or when they are in a low risk situation.

Small one but the Ending Slides are a must, choice need consequence to have weight and just having a addict giving you vague visions that are super easy to miss is just not going to cut it.

I think certain NPCs either named or quest relevant should fall Skyrim's Lydia rule. They wont accidentally die to a world event (like a random exploding vertibird falling on their head) but gives players the opportunity to kill them.

I want the camp system to stick around, I love the idea of being able to travel with a mobile campsite as a wasteland nomad

They should get rid of the essential status for NPCs when the player decides to attack

I think they should bring back other kinds of mutants. Similar to Harold, but it could be more minor mutations visually from NPCs you encounter.

Idk how to describe it exactly, but I'd like to see proper damage vulnerabilities come back. Like how pulse grenades and shotgun pulse slugs would do more dmg to PA and robots. Along those same lines I'd love to see the ammo switching mechanic return as well. Obsidian did it and no other Fallout game has done it since.

One thing I hope they bring back in Fallout is more intricate Faction mechanics, disguises, specific reptuations both as an individual and within each faction, and quests that focus on really screwing over your chosen enemy. It's similar to several of the points in this video, but it's something I would love to see in Fallout, since from what I know of Fallout 2 it seems to do some of this, and New Vegas has some as well, so I guess it's both that I hope they bring it back, but also I hope they expand on it.

Fallout new vegas has small little bits of a dynamic wasteland, such as wiping out the ncr at helios one causes the legion to move in instead even if you did it for completely unrelated reasons.

I think melee attacks should be able to target individual parts as well. At least unarmed ones or using small weapons.
That way you can play a character who just punches people in the groin.

On the note of the low intelligence character, i hope they build on the idea of low stats. Like i want to see issues from min-max builds, or not necessarily issues but differences. So a strength 1 character cant use some weapons, and people react to you as a scrawny guy maybe you can't intimate or your intimidation checks have more of that creepy serial killer vibe. Low agility could cause you to trip when sprinting, endurance could have people perceive you as out of shape, perception could literally blur your vision especially at distance or make terminals hard to read, charisma can have awkward stilted dialog, and low luck could increase your chance of bad "unlucky" things happen to or around you. Or hopefully better ideas i just would like to see that kind of reactivity to your build and on the high end as well

My biggest gripe is after fallout new vegas, you don't have a force lock option. Sure it usually didn't work anyway, but you used to have an option with some percent chance to force a lock open. With of course the possibility that you'd break the lock meaning now it can be picked (unless you had infiltrator)

The thing I wish Fallout 4 did was to show how the lasting population adapted and how the world would've changed after it being 200 years since the bombs fell, it feels like the world just paused with us after being frozen, seeing as how little the world has been rebuilt after waking up, so hopefully Bethesda takes that into consideration for the next game

On the subject of doors, while not as cinematically pleasing to some, it be a cool idea if at least for the wooden doors we could use a shotgun aimed at the door knob to “unlock” them. We have breaching shotguns meant specifically for that plus I’m pretty sure any old boomstick at that range would work just fine
