Most small group sessions are a bootcamp with fewer people in the room.
One workout on the board. Everyone does it. The coach walks round fixing the same lift twenty times.
In this video we sat in with a gym's coaching team and pulled that apart.
The board said bent over row. Most of the room had no business doing one.
So we took the board away and asked one question. Who is in front of you today?
A post-op ACL. Perimenopausal hip pain. A client who is heavily pregnant. Plantar fasciitis. A runner with a sore Achilles and a tight IT band.
Then the coaches had to run one session for all of them.
It got messy. That was the point.
Good small group training looks like chaos from the front desk. Different people, different lifts, different rest. The coach knows exactly what each person is doing and why.
Some people can stand still for 30 seconds while you set someone else up. That is rest, and rest is part of the plan.
Your members only see the one session they turned up for. Make that session count on its own.
Keep it fun. Keep them safe. Then keep making the coaching better, week after week.
What you'll learn
