My boyfriend who is a jazz musician and private music instructor ( recently retired) Taught a student who had a dog in the home that would start singing as soon as the lesson began and the student was playing clarinet. He kept doing this and everyone got a kick out of it but it was difficult to conduct the lesson after a while so the dog had to be put in another room. My boyfriend took a video of the dog singing and it's pretty funny. Although I wonder if he was really just howling to make it stop😄

I had a rescue puppy in Portugal about thirty years ago, so before mobile phones. He had been dumped because he didn’t bark or howl but sang talked very like this dog ALL THE TIME! However if I played Vaughn Williams’s theme on Thomas Tallis. He would truly sing along, just slightly behind the melody, but otherwise following the tune perfectly. I nearly crashed the car the first time. Jus t this piece of music, he’d put his head back close his eyes in concentration and sing not loudly, but beautifully. I couldn’t get him to do it to command, and had no way to record it. But it’s not something I shall ever forget. He was a rather eccentric dog in many other ways too.

One of my favorite YouTubers sometimes finishes the show in a duet with her doggie. The little guy puts his heart into it and it just makes for a warm and friendly ending to another Saturday visit with Little Poet. I really enjoyed this performance.
